Intercessory Prayer
They Just Don’t Know: Our Intercessory Prayer Part 2

Abraham’s intercessory prayer saved his family.

In the midst of being saved, Lot’s wife looked back at what used to be, indicating her un-readiness to be saved. At that point, all was lost for her, she immediately turned into a pillar of salt, costing her life. (Gen 18-19)

Some people attempt to live what they consider a “godly” lifestyle, but without Christ.

How? By not reading God’s Word, not having a “real” prayer life, or a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

They consume a few helpful scriptures here and there, “This will get me through!” they say.

Lot’s wife missed her SALVATION, because “she” wasn’t ready. Jesus tells us to always be ready and watching.

“The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. But only five of them were wise enough to fill their lamps with oil, while the other five were foolish and forgot.

“So, when the bridegroom was delayed, they lay down to rest until midnight, when they were roused by the shout, ‘The bridegroom is coming! Come out and welcome him!’

“All the girls jumped up and trimmed their lamps. Then the five who hadn’t any oil, begged the others to share with them, for their lamps were going out.

“But the others replied, ‘We haven’t enough. Go instead to the shops and buy some for yourselves.’ But while they were gone, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked.

“Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” Matt 25:1-13

Many who think they will make it to heaven, will not. What matters is a personal relationship with Christ, that extends beyond church and sharing the message. Those things are good, but Paul says,

“I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:27

People don’t understand that the life they are living; however wicked, lawless, however against God, is ONLY because the church is here.

The spirit of God is upon His church, therefore, when we intercede for our nation, amongst the madness; standing in the gaps so that the Lord will not utterly destroy this place -they are spared another day to repent.

While we are being watchful and praying, the greater enemy is held back.

So church, continue to watch, rejoice always, pray without ceasing and give thanks! Be a “watchmen” on the wall. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Eze 33:7)

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, be forewarned that He shall soon return at a time when it’s too late to come to Him. He will take His faithful believers out of this world, and you will see things and experience things unlike never before.  (1 Thessalonians 5:2-11, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, 2:6-10)

DON’T BE LEFT BEHIND

Jesus loves you, He’s waiting for you. (John 3:16-17)

In coming to Christ, there is no fear, for He has not appointed us to wrath, but SALVATION through Him; that’s LOVE! Will you allow the LOVE of Christ into your heart today?  (1Thessalonians 5:9)

If you are ready, say this starting prayer: confess it with your mouth and believe it with your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me.

Amen.
