Even So Lord…Come?

He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20 NKJV

No time? Listen instead!

Anticipation

I feel great anticipation for the coming of the Lord because I know that it is soon.

Whenever we mention going over to my sisters home to visit, my girls can’t wait!

They keep track of the time, they pack snacks and they have their shoes on waiting at the door, for us to come down. Usually this is a thirty-minute task for all of them.

In excitement, they’ve checked off the list of things it takes to be ready, so we would not have to tell them.

Prepared

We as Christians (followers of Christ), should be eagerly waiting for Jesus to come back. We should be prepared; our lamps should be burning with extra oil.

Nothing in this world should stop us from wanting Christ to come back.

Jesus says,

and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks, they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat and will come and serve them…Surely I Am coming quickly.” Luke 12:36-37, Revelation 22:20 NKJV

Today, if there are things in your life, that you feel is stopping you from saying, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus,” it is time to remove them immediately!

We are never supposed to love the things in this world more than God. Jesus makes this clear, when He tells us, “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Matthew 10:37

The Bible also tells us not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of God is not in them. 1 John 2:15

If you feel hindered by the things you love, loosen them from your life and cling to Jesus. The Creator who made all things is coming soon.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Amen.

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
