“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 NKJV
Sometimes our car may break down, we run out of money for food, or our rent/bills increase. There are so many things that can happen to us, but the LIE of the enemy is that, “God doesn’t love us”.
Just because we are not rich, or we might end up suffering more persecutions than we want; does not mean that God does not love us. Jesus said when we give everything up for Him: life, family, houses, careers, and our own expectations – He will bless us with those things and more when we FOLLOW Him.
Listen – these things WILL come with persecutions. Yes, why? Because we still live in the world – as wicked as it is. But, God has still blessed us according to His riches in glory. And as He has blessed us, we give back into His house – so we can continue to be blessed, because our ultimate gift is eternal life with Christ, not living comfortably on earth forever.
“Let Me assure you that no one has ever given up anything—home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or property—for love of me and to tell others the Good News, who won’t be given back, a hundred times over, homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land—with persecutions! All these will be his here on earth, and in the world to come he shall have eternal life.”
Mark 10:30
Consider these people in the Bible, in need of different things:
In the story of Daniel, we see him in need of understanding, he prays to God and later, much later an angel appears to him telling him,
“for from the 1st day you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words…for twenty-one days the mighty Evil Spirit, who overrules the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the top officers of the heavenly army, came to help me, so that I was able to break through these spirit rulers of Persia.”
Daniel 10:11-13
The enemy will try to block our blessings from getting to us. Even if he has to terrorize us with lies; but God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND. Daniel’s prayers and needs were met – God hears us! (2Tim1:7)
Lazarus (not the Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead), was a poor beggar. In his life he was homeless, helpless and hungry, but upon his death he was taken to Heaven by angels. And even though his life was filled with many sorrows and misery, he received his eternal reward – eternity with Christ. God is our comforter! (Luke 16:19-31)
So it’s different for each person. Some Christians may seem to have “more”, but whom much is given much is required (Luke12:48). In America, we have it better than most Christians in foreign countries. In whatever situation, as the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:11-13, we must learn how to be content. Everything God gives us is meant to be used for His glory. And he will always supply us with whatever we need – “according to his riches in glory”.
Amen.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
