Not only should we know about the return of Christ, but we need to “live ready” for the Lord’s return.

While we wait on the Lord the bible tells me that we get stronger.

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Because two verses before in Isaiah 40:29 it says

He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Isaiah 40:29

These last three weeks have been a little stressful for me and I say a little, not because a lot of bad things happened, but I faced spiritual attack from the enemy. The devil tried to stop me from preaching God’s word, but this has pushed me to be even more determined to do the will of God.

In James 1:2-4 it says,

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4

While your faith is being tested through trials, that strain causes you to grow, and it produces a mature and complete knowledge of Christ, because you share in His suffering.

If anything, this global pandemic should have taught us that we need to be serious about this life and we need to be serious about death.  Yes, the coming of Jesus Christ is at the door, but where will you be tomorrow? Are you ready to stand before the almighty God? Are you prepared for eternity?

When I was younger my family would go on family trips and I never folded my clothes, but when it was time to go on vacation, I would fold everything to make sure I could fit all my stuff in my bag. We would always plan to leave early in the morning, before the sun came out, but we never got out on time. Sometimes you could hear my mom telling my dad to, “hurry up”. We would do bag checks right before my dad loaded the car and this was the one time that I was always prepared. I was so excited sometimes, that I would even pack my toothbrush before I brushed my teeth.

The Rapture is the one event that we cannot afford to be late to, it’s the one event we have to be prepared for, it’s the main event that we should be excited about, and it is the one church event that no Christian will miss.

It’s the catching away of the saints, it is the blessed hope, its God’s special rescue mission for the church from His fiery wrath, upon the earth.

But what if you die before it happens? Well, the bible tells us that you get resurrected from the dead, then raptured, before those who are still alive.

In 1 Corinthians 15:50-52 the apostle Paul says,

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:50-52

Again, he says in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Then the bible says at the end of the book of Revelation, that at the end of God’s judgment upon the earth, all of the Lord’s saints come back to the earth to rule and reign with Christ.

Christianity is not just another religion. No. Our faith is based on the acceptance of the love that God demonstrated, when Jesus died, and God raised Him from the dead. The bible is filled with promises for the Christian, but the only scriptures in the bible that can help an unbeliever, are the scriptures that talk about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

True conversion of the heart takes place when a person has decided to let go of the world and surrender their whole heart to Jesus Christ.

Our true acceptance of God’s free gift is recognized and followed by the transformations that takes place in our lives. We don’t think and act the same, because our desires change.

This is not a powerless faith, but my bible tells me in the book of Romans that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to those who believe.

Are you ready to go to heaven? Are you ready to see Jesus?

It is only those who are unsaved, that should be getting ready, but bible believing, Gospel preaching, born-again Christians must live ready for the Rapture!

In Revelation 22:12-13 Jesus says,

“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to reward each one as his work deserves. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

John quotes what Jesus says about His coming, in Revelation 22:20,

“He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.”

Jesus speaks for Himself here and He means what He says, but what does He mean by, “I am coming quickly”. This was almost 2000 years ago, when He said it. We must understand that Jesus was speaking into the future.

Pastor Greg Laurie said recently in the last part of his message from the book of Revelation, “as the last days events take place, they will happen in rapid succession – one after another…” and he says that, “The coming of Christ will happen suddenly as the events get closer and closer together…” and as the bible tells us, at a time when we least expect it.

You might be brushing your hair getting ready for church, or your pastor may be preaching his heart out, or it might just be a very stressful day in the middle of the week, then Jesus comes takes His church and totally changes the reality of the world.

I don’t care what I’m doing, “…even so come Lord.”

In Philippians 3:20 Paul says,

20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

1 John 2:15 says,

“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.”

We’re supposed to be eagerly looking forward to the rapture of the saints – excited, but how many of you know that the truth is many times some of us Christians feel that our lives are too important to even think about leaving this earth, let alone telling the lost that there is coming a time when Jesus Christ will return and if they don’t turn from their sins and be converted to Jesus they will be left behind.

We get so distracted and busy, that we can’t even recognize the signs of the times. This is what happened the first time, when Jesus came to the earth 2000 years ago, the people didn’t recognize the manner in which Christ would come, they were looking for Jesus to take over Rome and establish His kingdom on earth, so Jesus was rejected, which is the reason why they had Him crucified. So close, but most people missed out.

The Rapture is the one promise that Jesus will personally and physically fulfill for His church right before God’s 7 years of wrath, called the Tribulation, mentioned in the book of Daniel and Revelation.

In John 14:1-4 Jesus says,

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

Jesus declares Himself equal to God, when He says, “…you believe in God believe also in Me.”, because He is God in the flesh, the bible says that He is the “exact representation of God (Hebrews 1:3), meaning He is the physical expression of God.

John 1:1-3 says,

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

In the Garden of Eden, the Trinity, which consist of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, had a conversation and said,

““Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;”

This is the same Jesus, who is going to personally come off His throne, gather His church into the clouds, and take us to be with Him in heaven.

We can see the birth pain contractions of the last days and it’s hard to know what’s going to happen tomorrow. The bible talks about these being “stressful/terrible/perilous and very difficult times”.

The conditions of our world have become increasingly worse and at an even quicker pace than in the past. The very foundations of morality will continue to crumble as the Rapture of the saint draws nearer, but complete lawlessness will continue to be hindered by the church until that day.

The nation of Israel has seen more trouble in the last month than it has in the last 7 years and that’s what I’m saying. Get ready because I truly believe that based on what the scriptures say, God is getting ready to turn it up a notch. I don’t know what we will happen in the world next, but one thing that I do know is that the Church is still here, because we still have a job to do.

Everyone has been talking about the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, but what effect has the pandemic had on the church? Well, many churches didn’t make it. Yes, some churches have closed their doors for good and some pastors have hung up their robes.

Most of the churches that are open have had to move to online service and in some ways, this has reached more people, but many of the church structures have changed.

Covid-19 has shaken up the nations, and it has stirred up the churches. This pandemic did not show favoritism. Many family members and friends, pastors and church members did not survive Covid-19, and there have been so many tragedies. We have to continue to lift up our Christian brothers and sisters in prayer.

But Jesus didn’t keep these events a secret but warned us that this was going to happen right before He went to the cross. He said in Matthew 24:6-14,

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

“all these things are going to come to pass…”

Things in the world are going to get worse, but we cannot be troubled, because Jesus continues and says,

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences (including epidemic and world-wide pandemic disease), and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

What our world is experiencing right now are the beginning of sorrows/birth pains of the last days, which means things in our world will change suddenly, and some people are so lost that they can’t even believe that things are getting worse. Life be peaceful in your neighborhood and in certain parts of the world for a brief moment, but don’t be deceived. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment, Jesus promises that all of these things will be taking place, right before He returns.

I want to get to the encouraging part of this message, but first you really need to hear this part of what the bible says.

The last days signs deal mainly with the events taking place in Israel, but you have to watch the right news channel, because most news channels are dishonest concerning Israel.  Personally, my family watches CBN news because they report real news and give insight from a Christian perspective. You need to check them out.

As Christians, its important, you do not have hatred towards Israel, or have disregard for them, because they are still God’s chosen nation.

Right before the Rapture of the Church happens, Jesus says in Matthew 24:9-14,

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

For however much more time our lives go on in this world and as the signs of labor and delivery of the last day events advance, we have to believe God’s word that what it says is true. We cannot lose heart – Jesus said, “See that you are not troubled…”

For Christians these signs that we see means that salvation is coming, and our trials and sufferings will be over soon. As of now we have the promise of salvation, but when Jesus comes, we will have a fulfilled salvation.

How do we live ready?

Live Convinced

That God word is truth and the coming of Jesus Christ is real and at the door.

Live Content

Being satisfied in the Savior, joyful in whatever situation you may be in, waiting on the Lord to bless you.

Live Eager and Excited

Don’t be afraid or ashamed of the Rapture, look forward to it.

Live Intentional

Make time to warn people of the coming judgment and share the gospel, so they can be saved.

Live as Strangers

“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. (1 John 2:15)”

The Apostle Peter says,

“Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. (1 Peter 2:11)”

We are in the world, but not of the world. Christians are different not because something is wrong, but because we’re supposed to be!

The Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 4:8,

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

The Apostle John in 1 John 2:18-19

18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

John is saying don’t give up, we’re almost home!

In 2 Thessalonians 2:3 the Apostle Paul says,

Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the [c]apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed],

(AMP version)

People are going to continue to turn away from the faith, and that’s the reason why Paul here is telling us to watch out, guard your faith, don’t be deceived.

The time is coming and I believe soon, when Jesus will sound His trumpet and those who did not take Christ’s coming seriously, and decided to love the world rather than God, will miss His visitation and be left behind to face all the terrors written in the book of Revelation. This is going to be, the scariest and most dangerous time that the world has ever experienced.

If you have not committed your life to Jesus, or you have turned your heart away from God, I hope that this message has changed your mind.

Now is the time to turn from your life of sin and turn to Jesus Christ. If you’ve broken even one of God’s ten commandments, that makes you a sinner and condemned to hell, but your decision to put your faith in Christ today, will make you a citizen of heaven. God will forgive all of your sins, cleanse you of all unrighteousness and save your soul.

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
