On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

The Storm
We can pretty much call anything a storm, but what about serious storms that cause a physical effect on your body. People say just be positive and think good thoughts. No. When you’re dealing with high-stress events, that make you feel like you’re drowning, you need to call on Jesus.
The disciples were so afraid that they criticized Jesus for sleeping while they were freaking out. Sometimes we too can get mad at Jesus and doubt, when life hurts, but Jesus tells the disciples, “Why is it that you have no faith?” Faith and doubt do not coexist. They are opposing mindsets.
Jesus is not sleeping in your situation. He’s not unaware, rather He is always working in your life even when it doesn’t seem like it. He provides opportunities to prove your faith and your faith activates God’s breakthrough in your life, but you have to keep praying and trusting in God until something happens. You also have to be willing to accept God’s will for your life and the lives of others.
No Matter What
We can force God to do anything, or try to somehow manipulate scripture to fit our desired outcome. We need to surrender our lives into God’s hands and allow Him to have His way.
Are you going to trust in God no matter what? In Philippians 3:7-8, Paul says,
But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ
Philippians 3:7-8
You need to be willing to let everything else go in order to follow Christ. Jesus says,
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
Matthew 10:37-39
No matter what happens in your life trust in the Lord and always choose Christ.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
