+ Don't get High be Sober

Don’t get, High be Sober

Don't get High be Sober
Sober

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

Romans 12:3

No one is usually attracted to people who are full of themselves. A person interviewing for a new job can quickly lose an opportunity if they make themselves sound like a know-it-all.

In the same way as Christians, we don’t win people over by stepping on their feet to lift ourselves up. God does not favor us for our many words, or when we boast about all the good works we’ve done. In fact, when our good works are coupled with pride and conceit, then Jesus tells us we can lose our rewards in heaven (Matthew 6:2).

Our faith comes from God. He is the distributor and everything we have comes from Him. He just allows us to use it. So use your faith, but don’t abuse it. Every gift and talent that is used to glorify God is important and useful for building up the church.

The Bible also says that God gives each person a certain measure of faith and that measure is according to the calling and purpose God has for your life. So don’t think of yourself as “less than” because of your title and don’t think of yourself as “greater than” because of your title. Jesus says’

The greatest among you must be a servant. But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Matthew 23:11-12 NLT

So don’t get high, be sober. You never know what God has planned for your life.

Jesus has a Message for you!

Jesus has a message for you

And he said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time [of their fulfillment] is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy (vile, impure), still be filthy; and the one who is righteous (just, upright), still be righteous; and the one who is holy, still be holy.” 12 “Behold, I (Jesus) am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to the merit of his deeds (earthly works, faithfulness). 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End [the Eternal One].” 14 Blessed (happy, prosperous, to be admired) are those who wash their robes [in the blood of Christ by believing and trusting in Him—the righteous who do His commandments], so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs [the godless, the impure, those of low moral character] and the sorcerers [with their intoxicating drugs, and magic arts], and the immoral persons [the perverted, the molesters, and the adulterers], and the murderers, and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying (deception, cheating). 16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you and to give you assurance of these things for the churches. I am the Root (the Source, the Life) and the Offspring of David, the radiant and bright Morning Star.” 17 The [Holy] Spirit and the bride (the church, believers) say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take and drink the water of life without cost.

Revelation 22:10-17 AMP

Jesus is telling us not only to say that we believe in Him because even the demon believe that God exists and they tremble. Jesus commands us to live like we believe in Him because ultimately this will be the standard by which we will be judged.

There are several sins that Jesus mentions here, but it’s not a comprehensive list. The point is for Christians to live righteous lives. 1 Peter 4:17 tells us that judgment shall begin at the house of God, and since that’s the case there is no hope for the unrepentant sinner.

What does Jesus want us to do?

Jesus doesn’t want people to remain in sin, but what He’s telling us is that the way that He finds you, that is exactly the way that you will remain. Who you are when you die, or when Jesus comes in the Rapture, is who you will be. We can’t reverse time and make things right. Today is the day of salvation! The Holy Spirit and the church say, “Come to Jesus!”

Have you made Jesus your Savior and the Lord of your life? Have you turned from sin and committed yourself to live a righteous life? If you have turned away from the faith for any reason, or simply abandoned your faith, then it’s time to repent and rededicate your life to Jesus. If you have never put your faith in Jesus, but want your sins to be forgiven and you want to go to heaven when you die, then commit your life to Jesus today.

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. + Transformed

It’s Time to Live a Transformed Life

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Romans 12:2 NLT

The truth is that we all follow after someone else’s example. The clothes we wear, the food we eat, the products we buy, and the people we follow on social media. There’s nothing wrong with following someone else’s example, but the Bible commands us to follow the right example. In fact, in 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul tells us,

Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV

What is a Christian?

Christians are supposed to follow Christ and that is exactly what “Christian” means – a follower of Christ. Some people say, “I don’t want to be called a Christian!” They say that because they feel Christians give Christianity a bad name. In some sense that’s true, but again it’s impossible to follow Christ and not be a Christian.

Our speech, behavior, compassion, giving, preaching, the way we raise our kids, and the things we believe and practice, all of these things set us apart from the world when we follow what God’s Word teaches. God’s word is literally able to transform who you are as a person, from your actions to even the clothes you wear, but you have to change the way you think and accept what God says rather than what the world says.

It’s Time!

It’s time to live a transformed life and that begins in your mind. It begins with the decisions you make and the people you associate with. What kind of friends do you have? Has your example been able to change the people that you call friends, or have they influenced you to compromise in certain areas of your faith, just to make it easier for them to hang out with you?

As you make up your mind to choose to follow Christ in every area of your life, you will be able to test every idea, trend, person, church, friend, school, politician, intention, deal, and decision. God will teach you His good, pleasing, and perfect will. So don’t compromise. Live a transformed life.

Lastly, Paul says,

And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Romans 13:11 NIV

Tell It Like It Is!

teenager praying

Sometimes, I have bad thoughts.

Sometimes, I don’t live like I believe.

Sometimes, people ask for help but I really don’t feel like helping them.

Sometimes, I feel like giving up.

Sometimes, I feel someone else can do it better.

Sometimes, lust gets in the way of loyalty.

Sometimes, I preach things that are hard for me to practice.

Sometimes, people get on my nerves.

Sometimes, I feel inadequate.

Sometimes, I feel like you…

The Bible says,

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Matthew 26:41

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. 13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

+ What is Real Worship?

The True and Proper Worship

What is Real Worship?
Real worship

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1

What is true and proper worship? Is it the position that you pray in? Is it based on how high you raise your hands during praise and worship? Do you have to be on your knees at the altar until worship service is over, or at least until your favorite song ends?

It’s important to lift up our voices and our hands to praise and worship God, but even more importantly, the Bible equates real worship with holy living. Why? Because our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, which means they need to be pure, without blemish, and holy. A blemish would be using any part of your body in a sinful way, including the words that come out of your mouth.

People used to bring certain animals to the Jewish priest as a sacrifice to God to cover up their sins, but the Bible tells us that God was not pleased with that. God desired obedience.

Now that Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, God wants us to offer our whole selves to Him in obedience to His word. Why? Because God has shown us great mercy, who once were separated from God by our sin. Now God has given us His rich grace, which means unearned favor.

We are supposed to be living sacrifices. We don’t offer ourselves to be killed like the Jewish sacrifices. Rather, we live to serve and please God with the life that He has given us. That is why the apostle Paul says,

For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.

Philippians 1:21

Lastly, the Bible says,

So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 14So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

1 Peter 1:13-16

“Bear your cross as you wait for your crown. Tell the world of the treasure you’ve found.”

– Elevation Worship, “O come to the altar”

+ Watch Your Mouth

Taking God’s Grace For Granted

Watch Your Mouth

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

Colossians 3:5-10

Sometimes I hear people claiming to be Christians and out of the same mouth using filthy language. As a Christian, your speech must be pure, before the world and before God. We represent Jesus Christ, so we have to live as though we’re taking Jesus everywhere we go because we are.

Our language should not contain curse words, sexually explicit speech, harsh criticism, hatred, or anything else that does not produce the love of God. We are new creatures. The old person has passed away and you have become a new person. I would like you to underline filthy language, but there’s more.

The scriptures say that God’s wrath is coming on the world because of all of these things: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry anger, rage, malice, slander, habitual lying, and filthy language from your lips. Believe it or not, this is the shortlist, but it’s a start.

God loves us so much that He has given us the power to be like Him through Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable. The Bible tells us to be imitators of God. Lastly, it commands us to deny the flesh from evil desires.

How will you represent God today? Consider His love for you and don’t take His grace for granted (2 Corinthians 6:1-2). Our salvation cost Jesus His life.

+ The Joy of the Lord is your strength

The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength

Listen or read!

Joy

And Nehemiah continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”

Nehemiah 8:10

This scripture takes us to a time when Israel was brought back into the land out of exile. All of the tribes of Israel returned, but it was a time of rebuilding. The prophet Nehemiah received a word of the Lord for the people to turn their sadness and morning into joy. It was the joy of what the Lord had done that would be their strength.

For many years they had not been able to see what God was doing through the exiles into foreign lands, because of their disobedience. Now, God was calling them out of darkness and not just restoring their land, but also restoring the relationship between them and God.

What does this mean for you?

Things may not look so good in your situation, but you have to understand that God is still in control. We will all face disappointments, setbacks, and losses, but you have to understand that God is a restorer.

If you wait on the Lord and pay attention to what we consider to be the little blessings, then you can have the joy of the Lord. Don’t wait until things seem to be getting better, to have joy. Don’t waste your life sulking and groaning through trials. Instead, allow God to grow you through them.

What is Joy?

Joy is not about being happy about your situation. You have joy because of what God has done for you in the past and that energized your faith to believe in what God will do for you now.

The psalmist David tells us in Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” This means that troubles won’t last forever and there is a bright side to life.

The important thing is to keep a strong prayer life because the devil preys on those who don’t pray. Let God’s word be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. The joy of the Lord is your strength, so celebrate what God has done and encourage others while you wait for what He’s getting ready to do for you.

Salvation Plan

What Other Signs Do We Need?

“Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.”

Psalm 127:1

From the corruption of government to the corruption of some churches there is one common factor, they have left God out. If you remove God from the equation then the result is failure. The events that we have seen and are seeing in our world are clear signs that Jesus is coming back very soon.

In today’s society, we’ve seen an increase in witchcraft and the occult. Certain groups are trying to get satanist clubs in public schools. Yup! And what will that consist of? Not everything that’s free is good. Satan has declared war on our youth. It’s time to find alternatives to public school.

God has not overlooked all of the unborn babies that have been slaughtered through abortion, especially by America. The sad part is many who profess to be Christians support the abortion industry. But it kind of makes sense because only less than half of Americans profess to have religious beliefs and only about 2 percent of those people believe the whole Bible is true.

America has prostituted itself to every form of wickedness under the sun and there’s no doubt in my mind that it is under judgment. God is only preserving America because of the church. God is not happy with this nation.

What else is going on?

We’ve seen the corruption of young lives by the public school system and entertainment, teaching transgender identity, homosexuality, and exposing children and teens to pornography. These entities are conditioning kids to break the first commandment with a promise, which is, “children obey your parents.” We live in a culture of rebellion.

We’ve seen record-breaking worldwide violence, hatred, and terrorism. More people are rejecting God than ever before. Yet the remnant of God’s is still growing.

The Bible says in Romans 1:18-20

“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

Romans 1:18-20

This world and its ways are passing away. Pledging their allegiance to the spirit of the Antichrist. There is coming a time when we can no longer tell people that Jesus is coming back. The Christian will not be able to come back and make up for what they did not do for God.

Now is the time to call back the sinner and wake up the saints. Now is the time to train up your kids in the Word of God. It’s not too late! Invest in your kids’ salvation now. I’m telling you now that the Rapture will change everything.

People weren’t ready for Jesus at His first coming. People won’t be ready for the Rapture.

In His first coming Jesus came to bring the promise of salvation to those who would believe. In the Rapture, He’s coming back to fulfill the promise of salvation.

When Jesus came the first time, He established His church on the earth. In the Rapture, Jesus will remove His church from the earth.

The first coming of Christ started the clock for the last days. The Rapture will trigger the beginning of the end.

Jesus’ first message was to repent for the kingdom of heaven is near. Today Jesus’ message is, “Wake up and repent because I am coming soon!”

I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
