You’re Getting Stronger

Don't pass out @randomnestfamily.org
Don’t pass out!

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31

You ever fill like passing out from the pressures of life? Like a waitress as she finishes the last hour on her shift on a busy night, or a father dealing with difficult coworkers at his job, earning the same check, only to come home and realize his kids have been giving their mother a hard time. Maybe things are breaking down on your car one after another and much of your time and money is spent hanging out with the auto mechanic.

Have you been waiting on the Lord to break through, but in the process you feel like you’re breaking down? Why? It’s because, you’re at the end of your strength and “God’s strength is being made perfect in your weakness”.

Why does God take so long? “He may not come when you want Him, but he’ll be there right on time…” God wants you grow in your faith, in patience, in trust, endurance – He’s making you stronger, not in your own strength, but in His. We should be grateful God doesn’t bring our prayers to pass, exactly the way we pray them. God’s will is far better than we can conceive. We can sometimes be like a kid, who wants to eat “right now”, even though the food is not ready. If God moves too soon on your situation, it will not work out for your good!

You will not give up, you will not stop growing in Christ, you will not stop facing trials in your life, you will not be able to say that you’ve made it, and you will not stop running this race with Christ until you cross that finish line in heaven. You will continue to get stronger and stronger, until you hear Jesus say,

“Well done my good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful over a few things now I will make you ruler over many.”

Matthew 25:21

If you do not give up, you can experience the move of God! You’ve got this, because God’s got you!

I Am He!

Who has performed and done it, Calling the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the LORD, am the first; And with the last I am He.’”

Isaiah 41:4

I Am He!

If you’ve watched any of America’s popular talent shows on tv, many people have claimed to be able to do this or that, but not everyone can actually do what they say.  Our God is amazing, because not only did He create the past, but he also created the future.

You may be saying, “But the future hasn’t happened yet!” True, but to God it has. He’s already seen it. The beginning, present, and end are all the same to God. There is no other God, who performs His word.

Do we really know what these scriptures mean?

“And we know that, all things to work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28

“In Him we also have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things in accordance with the plan of His will…”

Ephesians 1:11

It means, God has a plan, and He will successfully perform it. You’re a part of it! He knew exactly what it would take in order for you to exist today. The mathematical chances of you being born are statistically impossible, yet the bible tells us that you were supposed to be here, because God called you from the beginning. You know what that means? You’re special and you’re a miracle!

The Battle of Trust and Control

The truth is, we want to try to control the outcome in our situations, because we don’t trust Jesus. The good thing, is you can trust in Jesus, because He knows the end from the beginning and if He knows your future, then you don’t have to worry. God has everything under control.

God says, “…I Am He.”.

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

Moments

Just give me my moment!

Mom is distracted while praying gif.
Distractions are EVERYWHERE! Lord help us.

As a mom of four girls, there is NEVER a dead moment.

Sometimes I may feel as if I haven’t grasped enough time to be alone by myself, to just seek God. I hate to feel as if I have put God on the back burner.

So it is no wonder I schedule everything in. Yes, schedule.

Seek…

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33 NIV

Parents have to have time to seek God on their knees away from their children and any distractions. It is wonderful to pray with the entire family. But make sure that you get the alone time you need with God. Sitting at the feet of Jesus in your quite space.

When you, as parents, are able to get alone and pray, your family praying together will be tremendous! Encourage your children to pray on their own as well.

Set the stage for them, by allowing them to see your quite space. Tell them, when you are here, “DO NOT BOTHER ME.” Unless its an emergency! LOL.

You can begin to do this by age 6+, for younger kids, keep them entertained with something, while you go pray. Take any time you can. Even if it doesnt last long, you must have it.

Be encouraged today.

IT’S TIME…TO LET IT GO!

Let It Go tiles lined up @randomnestfamily.org

Sold!

He dreamed of greatness.

Sold into slavery at 17yrs old; twenty shekels of silver given for his life.

Accused of the unthinkable, he was thrown into prison, unhopeful to see the light of day.

Until one day, God’s plan became evident to Joseph, son of Jacob.

An ultimate forgiveness is what he gave his brothers, releasing himself of any resentment towards them. Only happy they had changed their ways. (Genesis 37-45)

Josephs brothers, however, were not liberated from the memory of how they had treated him. Worried his forgiveness wasn’t legit, they sent servants to him requesting forgiveness.  (Gen 50:16-18)

Forgiven!

Joseph had completely forgiven his brothers, yet they had not been able to forgive themselves. Being tormented in their minds, not understanding true forgiveness; because of how they HAD lived.

“Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God to judge and punish you? God turned into good what you meant for evil…No, don’t be afraid. Indeed, I myself will take care of you and your families.” Said Joseph, speaking very kindly and reassuring to them. (Gen 50:19-21)

Let It Go!

Are you hanging on to past failures and sins? If so, then it’s time to LET IT GO!

Holding onto our past will hinder our spiritual growth in Christ, our relationships and our self-growth.

Sometimes its easier to accept the fact that Christ has forgiven us, but we can’t forgive ourselves. Maybe you hurt someone, people you care about, or you hurt yourself, did the unthinkable.

Regardless of what it was, Christ HAS forgiven you when you call upon His name: Jesus, I ask for Your FORGIVENESS!

For He is FAITHFUL and JUST to forgive us of ALL our sins and to cleanse us of ALL unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

Freedom!

Don’t stay stuck in what Christ has called you out of. For whom the Lord sets free, is free indeed! (John 8:36)

In Christ ALONE, we are a new creation. He has forgiven us and we did not earn it or deserve it. We accept Him into our lives to live for Him now.

A God of 2nd chances, He is patient where we cannot understand patience. Jesus sacrifice was so great, that ALL creation WILL be made new; reconciled to God. Take your place and accept His grace and mercy which is promised to us who ARE His. (Rom 8:18-23)

If you are carrying a load of burdens from your past, let it go. Allow Christ to forgive you by accepting Him into your life, so that you WILL have a peace that surpasses ALL understanding.

Notebooking For The Summer

Notebooking for the summer

Updated with tips!

Summer is the time when kids tend to slack off, especially now that school seems very distant and unrealistic for most.

Even for us homeschoolers, the current pandemic has thrown us off a bit. Yet, because we homeschool, our kids tend to lean towards their normal day schedule, even when there isn’t much to do.

This summer, we decided to keep school going. Not the entire homeschool schedule, but more of a relaxed “summer schooling” routine.

This is where notebooking comes in.

See how our homeschool does notebooking!

Join our Newsletter for more homeschool articles!

Before I tell you how I use notebooking, let me explain to you what notebooking is.

You might already be doing it, if you use notebooks to organize your work, plan your work or school.

Notebooking is a very fun way to keep your kids engaged.

There are many ways to notebook, and either way allows your child to write their own thoughts and interest on a subject.

Interest Lead

One of our favorite ways to notebook, is “interest lead” notebooking.

Interest lead notebooking allows kids to gain great researching skills. They can

find something out about any subject they desire. I have my kids pick a topic and write about it.

If they pick an animal, then they can write, draw, and research about animals. However, they most commonly write about princesses and castles, which leads them to research dragons, and lizards, knights, and Biblical queens. Once they get this information, they tend to write a story based off their research, in that same journal. See, one purpose served. Getting them to write, and to learn to research.

Tip #1

A good money saver for us, is having our kids use any left-over notebooks that they had for the school year, as a place to write. This depends on what you’re trying to accomplish, but it works for us!

However, when starting fresh, let your kids choose a spiral bound notebook just to get writing. To make notebooking a little extra fun, use notebooking pages, like the ones I’ve just created on Birds. It’s a Bird Unit Study that’s summer approved! It gets kids searching, writing, and aware of the many bird species outside.

We often go to the park just to get out, and we love to sit under the tress and spot out the many different birds, so that’s where this unit study was birthed. You can collect your pages in a three-ring binder, and create a bird book your family will always remember. These pages are very popular among our homeschool community!

Once your kids have chosen their notebook, make it fun. Allow them to decorate the outside, however they want. Give them stickers, markers, pens, anything creative.

Tip #2

A rule of thumb for notebooking, don’t try to use them for every subject. Try to enjoy them with fun unit studies, which don’t last all year. If you are going the three-ring binder route, it’s easy to just add the page into the binder.

They can be used as a place for copy work. I might write a sentence or so for my youngsters and allow them to copy it and draw a picture after.

Free writing becomes loved with glamorized journals and notebooks. Even for boys, they can decorate their journals and notebooks with cool “dude” approved stickers.

Notebooking is for EVERYONE!

Notebooking is for all ages. I keep several for everything I do, especially my bible study.

Make Bible study a unit of studying too! What a huge Study right? But if you break off different focuses, and use journaling pages, like the ones I’ve created below, it will allow you to Study together, with your kids, or alone as an assignment.

Check out more ways to be involved with your kids in this type of studying by visiting here!

Notebooking is just that easy!

Don’t forget about nature studies, math practice, everything you can image, all in notebooks, in different ways you desire.

Some families even scrapbook, and this is done by using various notebooking pages, or journaling. You can collect works of art, from your family’s best drawings, and photos.

It’s easy to see why we love notebooking, it’s a HUGE part of our relaxed homeschool schedule. We grab them and head to the table, or outside to document our flowers.

Don’t let those kiddos do nothing this summer, get them a notebook and inspire some creativity. Allow them choose the subject, this keeps them excited.

The last and final thing, notebooking can also help you get to know your child even better. No harm in that, since they will be writing or drawing their feelings, moods and imaginations. Studies show that people tend to write or draw how they feel.

Share and explore together!

Happy Notebooking!

Other ways to use notebooking:

  • biographies
  • literature (instead of a book report)
  • science experiments or research
  • copy work and Bible quotations
  • timelines
  • geography and map study
  • nature studies
  • historical events /current events
  • mini reports
  • field trips/ road trips

I hope you have enjoyed this homeschool article. Thank you for visiting us today, God bless you!

Randomnestfamily

The Unpopular Message

woman holding burning newspaper
Photo by Jhefferson Santos on Pexels.com

Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

James 1:21 NIV

Does This Offend You?

Jesus asked His disciples a very important question at a pivotal time in His ministry. All of John’s disciples and many followers who had been following Jesus, stopped following Him, because they said His words were “too difficult”.

The bible says,

61When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?63It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

66From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

68But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

John 6:61-69

What do you say?

Does James 1:21 offend you?

Most people are ok with the bible, when it comes to the “Golden rule”; “In everything, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (Matthew 7:12)”, but when it comes to truly living a holy life, the world immediately rejects God’s word, by trying to justify their lifestyle.

Romans chapter 1 says,

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

Romans 1:18

Which parts of the bible have you set aside to fit your version of Christianity? Do you still believe that all of God’s word is inspired by the Holy Spirit? In the times that we live in, this scripture in James is so necessary. It tells us what to get rid of and keep away from, but it also tells us what to accept.

Anything that offends God’s word must be rejected. Let these verses penetrate your heart today and let us examine ourselves according to the word of God. Also, make sure that the church you attend believes, that ALL scripture is God-breathed and inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Against All Hope

Against All Hope

Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham’s faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah’s womb.

Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous.

Romans 4:18-22 NLT

Against All Hope

Believe! As Christians, our hope is in God’s promises.

Abraham understood the FACTS of his situation. We may understand the FACTS of our situation, but we cannot let the FACTS change our FAITH.

Give Glory To God!

Allow the Lord to work out any issues you might be facing today. It doesn’t matter what it is, give Him glory in worship and leave the consequences to Him.

There is a hope in the promises of God.

“And because of Abraham’s faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn’t just for Abraham’s benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.” Romans 4:22-24

Amen.
