According to His riches in glory

God will provide
God will provide

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19 NKJV

Sometimes our car may break down, we run out of money for food, or our rent/bills increase. There are so many things that can happen to us, but the LIE of the enemy is that, “God doesn’t love us”.

Just because we are not rich, or we might end up suffering more persecutions than we want; does not mean that God does not love us. Jesus said when we give everything up for Him: life, family, houses, careers, and our own expectations – He will bless us with those things and more when we FOLLOW Him.

Listen – these things WILL come with persecutions. Yes, why? Because we still live in the world – as wicked as it is. But, God has still blessed us according to His riches in glory. And as He has blessed us, we give back into His house – so we can continue to be blessed, because our ultimate gift is eternal life with Christ, not living comfortably on earth forever.

“Let Me assure you that no one has ever given up anything—home, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or property—for love of me and to tell others the Good News, who won’t be given back, a hundred times over, homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land—with persecutions! All these will be his here on earth, and in the world to come he shall have eternal life.”

Mark 10:30

Consider these people in the Bible, in need of different things:

In the story of Daniel, we see him in need of understanding, he prays to God and later, much later an angel appears to him telling him,

“for from the 1st day you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words…for twenty-one days the mighty Evil Spirit, who overrules the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the top officers of the heavenly army, came to help me, so that I was able to break through these spirit rulers of Persia.”

Daniel 10:11-13

The enemy will try to block our blessings from getting to us. Even if he has to terrorize us with lies; but God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER, LOVE, and a SOUND MIND. Daniel’s prayers and needs were met – God hears us! (2Tim1:7)

Lazarus (not the Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead), was a poor beggar. In his life he was homeless, helpless and hungry, but upon his death he was taken to Heaven by angels. And even though his life was filled with many sorrows and misery, he received his eternal reward – eternity with Christ. God is our comforter! (Luke 16:19-31)

So it’s different for each person. Some Christians may seem to have “more”, but whom much is given much is required (Luke12:48). In America, we have it better than most Christians in foreign countries. In whatever situation, as the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:11-13, we must learn how to be content. Everything God gives us is meant to be used for His glory. And he will always supply us with whatever we need – “according to his riches in glory”.

Amen.

+ Scholarship money for college @randomnestfamily

Scholarship Finder

Scholarship money shouldn’t be hard to find…

What Is a Scholarship, or Grant?

When trying to figure out the financial aid lingo, look no further than the College board site.

I have listed some terminology as expressed for this article and added a few for your information:

Scholarship

A kind of “gift aid” — financial aid that doesn’t have to be paid back. Scholarships may be awarded based on merit or partially on merit. That means they’re given to students with certain qualities, such as proven academic or athletic ability. Learn more about gift aid.

Grant

A kind of “gift aid” — financial aid that doesn’t have to be paid back. Grants are usually awarded based on need.

Financial Aid

Money given or loaned to you to help pay for college. Financial aid can come from federal and state governments, colleges, and private and social organizations. Be sure your student applies for financial aide by filling out the FAFSA. See the link below.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The free application form you submit to apply for federal financial aid. It is required for all students seeking federal student grants, work-study programs and loans. Most colleges require it as well. The FAFSA may also qualify you for state-sponsored financial aid.

Too Many Scholarship Sites

The Skills they need!

With so many scholarship websites out there, where do you start???

There are websites that would love nothing more than to take your money, in order to supply you with scholarship information, or have you enter your most personal information, in hopes of the best scholarship.

While searching for scholarships for several clients, I noticed websites that promised top scholarships to students and even went so far as to take them through some sort of course, promising scholarships along the way.

Sickening!

Many of these websites were laced with ads, that were inappropriate for children (teens are still children). Some sites had “Special offers,” listed in their menus, and if your child was to click on them, it would lead them to ads where even pornography was shown.

The thought of the many teens and parents, that might have clicked these places by accident, or even browsed them, was sickening to me.

Therefore, here I have supplied you with a REAL scholarship link with real scholarships that actually change or differ per month.

Scholarships change because they all have deadlines. What might be available now, might expire in a month or so.

Quick Tips For handling Scholarships

Scholarships are a blessing for students who cannot afford to go to college, or need another means to pay. They are also good for students to help assist their parents in helping them go to college. Just because mom and dad can pay, doesnt mean they should bear all the financial burden.

Encourage your teens to show off their educational skills, by applying for a scholarship that suits them.

Check Deadlines

It is always important to check the deadline of your Childs scholarship and make sure they can do what it requires before the due date.

Read the Requirements

Your student should apply for a number of scholarships instead of banking on just one to get them through. Each scholarship application requires something different.
Though all of them may be similar in content, they may be asking for different things. It is imperative that you read the application carefully to make sure that you know and understand all the requirements so that you can fulfill them all.

Work on the Personal Statement

Your student needs to stand out from the rest! This can be done through their personal statement. The scholarship application usually requires them to write a personal statement and send it along with their documents. Most education experts believe that the personal statement is assigned the most weight and it can determine their fate.
Working on their personal statement after adequate preparation means that they can write it better and have a stronger chance of success.

Popular Scholarship Questions

Most scholarships follow the same format. Grab a notebook and have your student try to answer these questions as best they can. Then check their answers with a parent-teacher critique.

You want to help them put into words who they are and develop their personal story. If you prefer or if your student prefers, have an outsider with the proper knowledge, take a look.

Popular questions:
  1. Tell us about yourself!
  2. What is your greatest strength?
  3. What is your greatest weakness?
  4. Why do you deserve this scholarship?
  5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
  6. Talk about a time you overcame a challenge.
  7. Why did you choose this school?
  8. What activities are you involved in?
  9. How do you deal with deadlines or multiple tasks?
  10. Describe yourself in three words.

Find the top 40 scholarship interview questions and answers at this pdf, with more information on that subject, if you end up with a 404 message, contact us for a copy.

Be Concise, But Complete

The scholarship application has defined limits for your student’s essay or personal statement, depending on the requirement, it’s usually 500 or 1000 words. Make sure they don’t go over the prescribed word limit. This can create a very bad impression in the mind of the person who goes over their scholarship application. However, make sure that you don’t leave out anything important, therefore you have to be concise but complete.

Check It!

Once your student is done filling out their scholarship application, it is crucial that you check it multiple times for any errors that they might have made. Make sure that there are no grammatical or spelling mistakes as this can make their case weak. It’s always advisable that you get your scholarship application checked and reviewed by other people as well. Even if its just for spelling, grammar, or their outside take.
If you know someone who has filled out a scholarship application and got the scholarship your student wants, ask him or her for advice on how they achieved this.

Keep Track

Help your student keep track of every scholarship they are applying for. Some scholarships require the same information, or essay writing. If they write a good paper for one scholarship, it can be tweaked for another.

Keeping tract allows them to see which applications they filled out and how many times they applied for the same scholarship.

Looking for a scholarship can be the easiest part. However, getting the actual scholarship is the hardest part. It is a competition, but don’t be afraid! With Christ all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)

If you are you or your students would like help filling out their scholarship application or would like assistance, schedule a consultation with us today! Our team will be happy to help.

Distractions

Distractions

Are You Satisfied?

What have we done so far that can stand out before our Lord? All of our earthly possessions mean nothing when we are not using them to glorify God. Got a promotion? Great. New job? Good. All these things get burned up and don’t last. In fact, nothing is taken with you when you die. Only what we do for Christ will last.

If today were our last, would we truthfully be proud of what we have accomplished in life? Can we say as Paul said,

I have fought long and hard for my Lord, and through it all I have kept true to him. And now the time has come for me to stop fighting and rest. In heaven a crown is waiting for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return.” Yes, and this crown awaits all of us who whose lives show that we are eagerly looking forward to Christ coming back again.

2 Tim 4:7-8

Keep Your Lamps Burning

If we feel as if we could have done more – we still can. While tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us, living means more opportunities for Christ, what can you do today? Each and every day given to you, is an opportunity to let your light shine, showing Gods love to all; to encourage, and strengthen someone in God’s Word. (Phil1:21)

Don’t let your light grow dim. Don’t let the world and its worries put blinders on you, and don’t walk about as if you are in a maze; confused, rendered in fear and worry. Remember what the Word of God says about fear, and worry. And if we don’t know, it’s time to get busy reading and studying Gods Word for ourselves.

Are You Martha, or Mary?

Don’t let Jesus be in your very presence, yet refuse to walk in His Spirit.

Martha welcomed Jesus into her home, making Him feel comfortable. “She had a sister, Mary, who sat before the Master, hanging on every word he said. But Martha was pulled away by all she had to do in the kitchen.”

Later, she stepped in, interrupting them, “Master, don’t you care that my sister has abandoned the kitchen to me? Tell her to lend me a hand. ‘The Master said, ‘Martha, dear Martha, you’re fussing far too much and getting yourself worked up over nothing. One thing only is essential, and Mary has chosen it—it’s the main course, and won’t be taken from her.” (Luke 10:38-42)

Are we fussing too much and getting ourselves worked up over nothing? With so many distractions in our lives, let’s not miss the mark. Let’s make every effort to put Christ first, it’s that one thing that’s essential to life, we must choose it – like Mary. It tastes better and will make us happier.

Open up! Love on someone you haven’t before. Don’t worry about what others think about you. Die to self and live for Christ only. Allow Gods light to shine through you.

Let go of your distractions.

+ Peculiar

Peculiar #2

Peculiar
Peculiar

Peculiar

Never be afraid to face scary situations in life. If ever there is a time to stand for Christ, it’s now. Having to choose between our faith and this world, choose the Lord every time. You will never regret it. Jesus supplies all of our needs; He tells us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all those things that we need will be added unto us.

For wealth and riches are in His house, and His righteousness endures forever. Also, The LORD will not allow the righteous to hunger, but He will reject the craving of the wicked. So what have we to fear? (Matt6:33, Ps112:3, Pro10:3)

In fact, Jesus specifically told us not to be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But to fear God, who after you have been killed, has power to throw you into hell. So let’s rise up Christians! (Luke12:4)

In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and a Abendego, stood their ground before the king saying, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not worried about what will happen to us. If we are thrown into the flaming furnace, our God is able to deliver us; and he will deliver us out of your hand, Your Majesty. But if he doesn’t, please understand, sir, that even then we will never under any circumstance serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have erected.”  In the end, the king blessed the Lord, decreeing to kill those who wouldn’t. (Dan3:16-18)

What great faith these men had. If we were put to the test would we pass? Just think, our test doesn’t have to be an actual furnace of fire, it could be standing up for Christ at work, telling our neighbors about Him, or the people in line with us.

Let us be peculiar for Christ, being BOLD, FEARLESS.

Think about what God told his people Israel through the prophet Isaiah,

But now the Lord who created you, O Israel, says: Don’t be afraid, for I have ransomed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up—the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, your Savior, the Holy One of Israel. I gave Egypt and Ethiopia and Seba to Cyrus in exchange for your freedom, as your ransom. Others died that you might live; I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me and honored, and I love you.”

Isaiah 43:1-4

How much more the love God has for all of us, giving his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON to die for us all? God’s son was our ransom. Oh praise you forever Father, yes I will declare your name to the nations. I will use my gift to write for you. Use me oh Lord! (John3:16)

So as the world watches, I am a peculiar fool for Christ!

My God sings over me! (Zeph3:17)

My God prays for me, and the devil can’t touch me. (John 17:20-23, 1John5:18)

Amen.

How Can We Be Saved?

How can I be saved, or how can I get to heaven?”  Many people ask, “Will my good deeds get me into heaven, or if I try to be good -I’m a good decent person; I do my part and read the bible sometimes.”

One thing is for certain, we all have different ideas of what a “good” person is. That’s why the ultimate example to follow is Christ Jesus. The Bible details what type of “good” person the Lord looks for, which is why being “good” will not get us into heaven without Christ. Nor can we work or buy our way into heaven.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one can get into heaven except by Jesus. There is only One Way- Christ, who bridges our way to God; so we can be sons/daughters of God and heaven. (John14:6, Eph2:1-6 &14-18)

We can only get to heaven by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us by GRACE we have been saved through FAITH in Christ. We could do nothing to obtain this gift from God; nothing but accepting, trusting, and loving Him. (Eph2:8-9)

The Good Person?

“So I’ve never stolen anything, I haven’t killed anyone. I have lied, but we’re all human – I’m still a good person.” The problem, is if you’ve broken just one of the 10 Commandments, you ARE a sinner – a law-breaker, deserving death.

JESUS -yes! We need His forgiveness, and when we come to Him, asking for forgiveness; Jesus is FAITHFUL and JUST, to forgive us of All our sins. When we live according to His will, our reward is heaven. The gift of heaven is a special gift from God, which Christ made possible for us to obtain it by sacrificing Himself for us. Yes! Freedom is only found in Christ! “From the Lord comes deliverance,” and His blessing is on His people. This is the ONLY WAY to be saved and get to heaven. (1John1:9, Eph2:14-16, Ps3:8)

The Lord will NEVER forsake those who seek Him, for when we know Him, our trust is in Him. And we can be saved by no other name, but Christ Jesus. Accepting Christ’s salvation, is knowing He has the ultimate plan for our lives. He can take the motivation you once had for worldly passion and use it for His great purpose. He puts power behind our words for Him. (Ps.9:10, Acts4:11-13AMP, Phil3:1-11)

The psalmist asked God, “What is mankind that you are mindful of us, human beings that you care for us?” Yet, we’ve been translated into His kingdom of righteousness and He calls us FRIENDS – a CHILD of God.

God is our father, whom we love, when we BELIEVE and OBEY. (Ps.8:3-8, James2:23, Col1:13)

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that anyone who BELIEVES in him shall not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16

When We Fall, We Can Get Back Up

Get back up!

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Has temptation found its way into your life?

Are you tempted to fall back into your past sins, or to do those things, which you know are unpleasing to God?

Maybe you’re tempted to watch pornography (sexually explicit: pictures, books, magazines, videos, chats, phone calls), to drink alcohol, get high on drugs, commit adultery (sex outside of heterosexual marriage), to break the law (steal, lie on your taxes, lie on your timesheet at work), to be quiet when you need to give a reason for your faith in Jesus Christ, or log into Facebook during your social media fast?

If you have given in or slipped up a bit, don’t beat yourself down.

If you are struggling with temptation, just remember that you are not alone. Remember Peter?

Yes, even Christ’s own disciple was tempted and failed miserably.

But the awesome good news we have in Christ, is that even when we fall, we can get back up, but when we do, we have to turn from sin (repent).

You have to soak yourself in the bible – where we find the words of life, devote yourself to prayer, and fast when necessary. Replace those urges to sin, with prayer and write down those scriptures that empower you to overcome temptation:

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Today, let’s be an example for people to follow. Share the gospel of Jesus Christ with someone. You could be giving them a second chance at life – from hell to heaven.

Think about someone who can really use some encouragement and lift them up with God’s Words.

Pray:

Lord, keep me from temptation and make me strong. Father, I know I can do this, in your strength. I pray that you will show me someone to share the gospel with today. In Jesus Christ Holy name, amen.

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

When Giving Up is NOT An Option

“I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.

I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods

or take up their names on my lips.”

Psalms 16:2,4 NIV

My brother called me out of the blue, telling me he felt like “giving up.”

“It’s a new year,” he said, “I’m still stuck here in the same mess as last year, I feel like I can’t shake these voices, this lifestyle, this doubt. I need you to pray for me.”

This conversation ended with tons of prayer and encouragement, along with an ultimatum in Christ.

How many times have I heard that familiar, “I need you to pray for me,” or “will you pray for me?”

“Sure, I’ll pray for you. I’ve been praying that God will move in your life. That you will have no peace until you come to Jesus. Surrender your life to Him!”

It doesn’t escape our minds, when we have an unsaved loved one we’re praying for, or have been praying for.

When fasting, we grow closer to God and we desire even more, that our loved ones come to Christ. We know that Jesus will transform their lives.

Giving up is not an option in this life

If we live another day to call “today,” we must give ourselves over to the will of God. We cannot give the enemy dominion over us; we cannot allow him to convince us to give up.

God has given us the ability to take charge of our lives and live it fully within the freedom of Christ. Without depending on Jesus, we will give up, because the world is full of troubles. In Christ, we live life fully in His freedom.

Don’t give up in your prayers today for your loved ones saved. Your prayers for your children, your prodigals, your new home; whatever you have been praying and warring for, don’t give up!

I keep my eyes always on the Lord.
With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;

my body also will rest secure,

because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,

nor will you let your faithful one see decay.

You make known to me the path of life;

you will fill me with joy in your presence,

with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalms 16:8-11 Niv

Trust God and keep fighting!

Pray:

Father, help me to be strong in you. For your grace is sufficient for me. When I feel like giving up, help me to see that life without You, isn’t worth it. In Jesus name. Amen.

Amen.
