That’s how I feel. I feel satisfied. My homeschool finally completed our geography unit, “Let’s Study the World!” World Geography Unit Study for the second time. The last time we did this unit, I had just created it and as we went through it, I concentrated on the mechanics of it all. How to tweak things, how to include more grades, how to have better in-depth studies of the things my students wanted to know.
Results!
What ended up happening was that a newer version was created or an updated version. You can read more about the unit here and my past tweaks.
One of the BEST tweaks I did, was write a mini book that self-guides the students through the unit. This helped my older students instruct the younger ones. Their notebooks looked amazing!
We took most of this school year to complete this unit, but I also combined it with the United States Study: Lets Study the States unit printables. This made for a very thorough study of not only the United States, but also the world!
We visited Africa, where we learned about Fufu and researched how to make the delectable food. Soon my kitchen was filled with smells of Africa. Yummy!
Then we went down under to Australia and learned the history of the continent; the good, the bad, and the ugly. We discovered that Kangaroos are sort of a pest, and they have the absolute WORST spiders!
We had an amazing time in this unit. The last time I wrote about it was last year, but only months after we completed it. This time around, I felt so much more gratification.
