Product Details

These templates are designed for educators who enjoy integrating films, documentaries, Videos, or clips into their teaching, aiming to maximize the educational value for their students.

I originally thought of these because my students needed to watch quite a few films and YouTube videos as part of our unit study. I have since then advanced them to the high school level.

Now, enjoy my new Video Log Templates for grades K-12, complete with supplementary log notes and a video report worksheet to aid your students in structuring their thoughts. Additionally, a writing rubric is provided for those written reports, along with a writing plan to facilitate brainstorming and organization for your students.

This template is structured to help students engage with the video content actively and critically. After watching a video, they can fill out each section to reflect on what they’ve learned and how it applies to their studies. It’s also a great way for educators to assess comprehension and encourage deeper thinking about the material presented in the video.

My templates can also:

Fosters Creativity: The templates can serve as a canvas for students to make notes on narrative elements, plot intricacies, character development, and more, encouraging creative expression.

Promotes Engagement: By keeping a film journal, students engage more deeply with the medium,

uncovering subtleties, symbolism, and themes that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Aids in Learning: Reflecting on films through these templates can help cement learning in memory, as students process their thoughts and shape their opinions.

Develops Communication Skills: The practice of journaling about films can improve students’ ability to discuss movies, actors, or directors with clarity and confidence, this is excellent for any future film makers! They will enhance your student’s movie-watching experience and contribute to their academic and creative growth.

From our homeschool to yours,
