How many times did God have to tell Joshua to be brave and courageous? (Joshua 1)

Joshua was next in line to lead the people of God after Moses death. He had to have been scared, and maybe even anxious, Moses was a great leader, and those were big shoes to fill.

For God to have told Joshua to be brave and courageous, as much as He did, He had to have known the feelings and circumstances that Joshua would face.

What did God promise Joshua?

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and of good courage…” Vs. 5-6

God made this promise to Joshua and He stood by that promise all the days of Joshua’s life.

This same promise made to Joshua; we can claim it too! God is telling us the same things.

If He has called you to do a great work, even a small work, that seems nearly impossible to you, He is looking for you to be just as brave and courageous.

We all have those feelings of anxiousness, wondering if the people will accept it, and if they will like us, what will they think of us.

But if God has established and put us into position, we can not be moved! For He is for us!

God didn’t want Joshua to think about that, He was looking for obedience.

God is also looking for your obedience, to walk in what He is requiring of you today.

Take heed to the ministry that you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.” Colossians 4:17

Is it time to finally tell someone about Jesus Christ? Is it time for you to share your testimony, and stop feeling embarrassed about it?

One very important aspect of Joshua’s walk with God, was his obedience.

God would not be with him otherwise.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9

Victory comes through faith in God and obedience to His word. Not by anything we can do on our own.

That’s the secret to having God on your side, faith and obedience to Him.

The Lord is the conqueror.

God be with you and guide you!

Amen.

If you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I invite you today. You came here for a reason, and maybe, just maybe, God is pulling on your heart to come to Him. You’ve resisting. But you are here every day for a Word, something to hold you up. Only Christ can do that, let me guide you today, let’s pray:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

We hope today’s devotion has inspired you. We love you guys, and are constantly praying for you. Have a very blessed day.

Love,
