Joshua was very old, nearly one-hundred years old! But God had a plan for him still. There was no retirement, no “sitting in the rocking chair, waiting to die.”
God had given Joshua all the energy he needed for his task, he was walking in the will of God, therefore, the Lord was always with him.
What did God say? “You are growing old, and much land remains to be conquered.”
Yet, he reassured Joshua with this, “I myself will drive these people out of the land ahead of the Israelites. So be sure to give this land to Israel as a special possession, just as I have commanded you.”
Has God Retired You?
What did Paul say?
Now I have given up everything else—I have found it to be the only way to really know Christ and to experience the mighty power that brought him back to life again, and to find out what it means to suffer and to die with him. 11 So whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead.
12 I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be.
13 No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.
Until the Lord calls us up, he is not done with us yet!
Tomorrow is promised to no one, and ONLY what we do for Christ will last.
Don’t let your age, status, or thoughts, affect your ability to serve Jesus Christ. There are still lands before you to conquer!
Seek the will of God for your life and keep going until the end. It will not be long now. Just do not give up.
If you do not know the Lord, chances are you do not know the plans that He has for your life.
Do you know how much Jesus loves you?
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
This world promises nothing but pain and heartache. Come to Jesus now.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
We hope today’s Devotion has blessed you. We love you!
