You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; Matt 5:14
How can we be “salt and light” to a world that is not looking for Jesus, a world that is perishing in it’s wickedness?
It may seem far-fetched in today’s day and time, but God is still looking for us to live Holy lives before Him. 1 Peter 1:16
We have freedom in Christ, but what are we using it for? Do we want to “look” like the other side?
When we instill in ourselves to do whatever we want with our freedom in Christ, we must also look at the implications of our actions.
Paul say’s,
“19 Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. 20 To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive. 24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. (1 Corinthians 10:23-24)
31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1)
Think about your freedoms in Christ, have you been using them to cause someone to stumble?
Let’s take this week to reflect on how we can build up our Christian brothers and sisters and help those on the outside know about Jesus.
We are the light of the world, the salt of the earth. Matthew 5:13-16
Let us show more of who Jesus called us to be.
Don’t miss out on a future blessing.
Salvation Plan
If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are living in the freedom of this world, which is not freedom at all. The world’s definition of freedom is contrary to what God has instore for you. It will cost you your life:
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Matt 16:24-26
If you are willing, I would like to pray with you today and encourage you to live for Jesus. For He truly loves you and TRUE freedom is only found in Him.
Let’s pray
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
