A true story, set almost two years ago.
In my daughter’s mind, she’d done the unthinkable. She was miserable, crying hysterically.
Dropping my towel, I headed to the bathroom. Upon arrival, I could clearly see what happened; it was bad!
But as I looked into those little brown eyes of my four-year-old, an instant compassion overtook my anger. Silently, I cleaned up the mess as she watched me for a reaction. I gave none.
In her mind, that was worse than what she expected. She would cry, then prompt me to kiss her as I worked; awaiting judgement for her deed.
“Oh you’re going to get it!” Shouted her then five-year-old sister. This got her to thinking, she apologized and began rectifying her actions, doing what she thought would please me.
Smiling inside, I allowed her to work, as she would stop several times to kiss me.
At bedtime, I gently tucked her in as I watched her little eyes flutter in tiredness.
“I FORGIVE you,” I said. “Don’t worry, you will not be punished, I’m sure you’ve learned your lesson.” This brought a smile to her already closed eyes, and she reached up to grab me in a hug as I kissed her sweet little face.
I knew she felt released, set free and FORGIVEN.
This love and forgiveness is what our Father in heaven offers us, but GREATER!
When we sin or have our “accidents,” the Lord is FAITHFUL and JUST to forgive us, when we ask; and we cannot be “willfully” sinning, which will lead to death (Hebrews 10:26).
Jesus loves us so much that no matter what we do, He never leaves us. A totally devoted Father, who came that we might live in and through Him.
Suffering the cross, giving His life for ours. John 3:16
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends…but this is the very reason I came!”
Jesus, our loving and caring Father desires that no one perishes, but that EVERYONE comes to repentance. John 15:13, 12:12, 2 Peter 3:9
Come, let’s talk this over…no matter how DEEP the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as CLEAN as fresh snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you white as wool…I, yes I alone am HE who BLOTS away your sins for My own sake and will NEVER think of them again.” (Isaiah 1:18, 43:25)
Has anyone ever died that you might live? Is there anyone great enough to take away your sins?
Find your peace in Him today.
If you do not know Jesus today, I pray that you will allow Him into your heart. He LOVES you and WILL make you NEW.
He will forgive you and adopt you as a son or daughter. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 1:5, John 1:12
Let’s pray
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
