Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.

Romans 12:17

Conflict

Conflict doesn’t resolve conflict. No matter how many rounds you go toe-to-toe with someone, you just end up becoming a part of the problem.

There was a guy I use to work with on my job, who was a real narcissist. He loved to brag about how great of a job he did on his assignment and how everyone should be more like him. The truth is whenever the hard work showed up he would disappear while everyone else had to pick up his slack.

He would constantly complain about me when I was off the clock, then people who knew me would tell me about all the lies he had spoken against me. After a while, I tried to defend myself against the false accusations before my supervisor, but to him, I was only making his job harder. I prayed to God to deliver me from that job, but I ended up working with that person for eight long years.

The Struggle was Real

Other people began to notice that my coworker talked more than he worked and while the temptation to set the records straight felt so good inside, I had to fight hard to not put him down like he did me. I wanted to agree with the negative reports about him and explain just how bad of an employee this man really was, but God had to constantly strengthen me so that I could continue to let my light shine before others.

I didn’t pass this eight-year test with flying colors, but I was able to learn many lessons and grow in wisdom and perseverance. There will be people who don’t like you because of what you stand for and some who don’t like you because on the inside they feel you have something that they don’t. It is going to be tough, but we have to be willing to lay down our lives for the glory of Jesus. We have to die to ourselves so that we won’t be accused of being an evildoer like our enemies.

Whether it be conflict in you home, in your marriage, at church, or at work I have learned that the most important part of the solution is to go before God with serious prayers concerning everyone involved. You have to be willing to sacrifice for those important relationships in your life. God will give you the wisdom to defeat the devil’s destructive plans.

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
