I believe there was a time in our lives, (and those outside of Christ might still be living in those times) where we lived our lives or did things the wrong way; thinking it to be right.
Soon we came to our senses and understood that Christ was all we needed -wasted years!
The world doesn’t forgive, but Christ does. The world is merciless, but God gives mercy.
No grace is found in the world, but Jesus has given it already, and continues to do so.
The world will make you feel scarred and ugly, but Christ showers us in His love everlasting!
So, the story of the prodigal is simply this: the son wanted something other than what his father had for him. He couldn’t see the plans, the future and hope, his life was set up to have.
One reason, as Christians, we walk by faith and not by sight. (Jerimiah 29:11, 2 Corinthians5:7)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
JEREMIAH 29:11
Thus so, the son saw only what was in front of him and made his choices accordingly.
But his will was free -God gives us FREE WILL.
Although the father disapproved, his son made a choice, and the father allowed it. He knew his son would experience trouble, disappointments, and sadness -but it was his own CHOICE.
The father divided his livelihood to both sons -the prodigal went his own way wasting his possessions and years, caught up in worldly living.
Eventually, when all was lost and bad times came (because they always come), he found himself lower than low. He’d lost everything to the world, and even considered eating the slop that he was hired to feed the pigs.
Yet, even the world REJECTED him of that. (Luke 15:12-16)
At the time he was considering the pigs slop, he finally came to his senses.
He said, Man! “How many of my fathers hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!”
He arose and went home.
Coming to his father, he said, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight -am no longer worthy to be called your son.”
Yet the Father had COMPASSION on him, hugging and kissing him.
“Bring out the best robe and put it on him and put a ring on his hand -sandals on his feet…bring the fattest calf and kill it. Let’s feast and celebrate, for My son was dead and is ALIVE again; lost and is FOUND.”
Luke 17:24
God gives us that same choice. He has laid the foundations of our lives and plants us where we need to be.
When you are not in your right mind -you’re lost. If you want Gods best, obey and follow Him. He will NEVER let you down.
Christians, your first love is there!
For those unsaved; salvation, love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace, are all in Christ Jesus.
A simple message of love in this story Christ shares with us.
So today, if you have found yourself out of your senses, outside of your Fathers will, Christ, it’s time to come back home.
If you are not in Christ, it’s time to COME home. Jesus is waiting, but He will not wait forever. (Hebrews 3:15, John 3:16)
As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Hebrews 3:15
If you are ready to know Jesus and start living for Him today: this prayer is a START. Confess it with your mouth and believe it with your heart.
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus name, Amen. (Romans 10:9)
