God's hand reaching down. Title: "God's Hands, Our Future". Plans
Plans

Plans

One rainy morning, I stood in line listening to a stranger ramble on and on about her plans for this year.  They were major and even included a two and three-year plan. She had so much that she desired to accomplish (even marriage), and yet, the most important thing was missing – Christ.

In Christianity, there is no planning without Christ. When we try to plan out a future aside from God, disappointments are guaranteed.

One reason is that the Lord already has plans for us, “of peace and not of evil, to give us a “future and a hope.” When making plans, we must seek the wise counsel of the Lord in prayer, “Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run,” however, “hurry and scurry puts you further behind.”  (Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 21:5 MSG)

Dreams

All of our dreams and desires should be brought before the Lord, if something is not in His will, He will guide us away from it.  When we allow Gods perfect will to be done in our lives, then even if we “may stumble,” we “will never fall.” For the Lord upholds us with His hand. (Psalm 37:24)

Think of King David, whom the Lord declares “a man after Gods own heart.” God had many plans for David, yet his life was filled with challenges and trials. He had to trust that God was always with him, and he consistently put himself into His hands – the Creator who is both Author and Finisher of our lives. (1Samuel 13:14, Acts 13:22, Hebrews 12:2)

David made many plans but the ones entrusted to the Lord succeeded. Gods plans are just greater. Many times we hear David cry out for something to be done in his timing, but realizing that the Lord does things in HIS timing, because He doesn’t live in time like us.

And so David says,

“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; WAIT, I say, on the Lord.”

Psalm 27:14

Do your plans include Christ, are you planning a future aside from God?  Have you forgotten to take your hopes and dreams to the Lord, who guides us? It’s not too late to include Him. Present your plans to Jesus, He will order your steps, for “The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way.” (Psalm 37:33)

Salvation Plan

If you do not know the Lord, today is the day to seek Him while He may be found by you. For there will come a day when “every knee will bow” before the Lord, “and every tongue will confess to God and give praise to Him.”  Why not praise God now, and allow Him to direct you to the narrow path of heaven. (Romans 14:11 NIV/TLB)

If you are ready, say this starting prayer: confess it with your mouth and believe it with your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen. Now, if at all possible, get to your nearest Bible preaching church and receive the support you need.

We hope this devotion has inspired you!

Love,
