It’s Day 10 of our 25 Days of Christmas Kindness series, which is a part of our Focus on Your Family: Family Bible Study.

How does this scripture connect with Christmas? Well, it says, “Honor one another above yourselves.” The Bible says this:
Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. 6Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Philippians 2:4-8
Jesus being God, became a lowly human being. He was born into a poor family. He wasn’t really a handsome man, desired by women (Isaiah 53:2). Jesus was born in a barn and laid on a tray for feeding animals and finally died on a rugged cross with no justice and no earthly descendants
The reason why Jesus came into the world was not to rule the world but to serve and die for it. How can you honor someone other than yourself today? How can you have the same attitude that was in Christ Jesus?
Today’s act of Christmas Kindness is:
Do a chore for someone in your family.
Every day until Christmas, there will be an act of Christmas Kindness that you can do with your family and a focus scripture for you to memorize and have your children write down as a memory verse. Get a FREE Act of Kindness Journal from this series here.
Don’t be discouraged if you miss a day, or change it up a bit to suit your family. These acts are made to extend far beyond Christmas. Invite friends and extended family members to join in. Have fun and ENJOY! It’s Christmas time!
