“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!“John 1:29
The Point of John The Baptist
John the Baptist was the first cousin of Jesus, born only six months before Jesus, so they were basically the same age. John began his ministry first. He prepared the way for and pointed people to Jesus.
John’s life was all about Jesus. He wasn’t just related to Him and he didn’t just know who Jesus was, but he told everyone he could to turn from their sins, be baptized, and believe in Jesus.
That was John the Baptist’s purpose, but what is yours? What is your testimony about Jesus Christ? Will you tell somebody about Jesus today?
