“But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5 God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.”

One For All
The Bible speaks of us being bought at a price and how we were separated from God because of sin. We were slaves to a law that had no remedy for our hopeless destiny. Then, Jesus was born to us, through Mary, but given to the world by God. The sacrifice of one life, in exchange for many (Galatians 1:4).
Forgiveness Wasn’t Enough
God made Him who knew no sin to become sin for us, so that we could become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). Isn’t that incredible? Yet, God didn’t feel like that was enough, so not only did He plan to save us before He created the world, but He also planned to make those who believe in Jesus to become children of God.
We Were All Adopted
That means that we were not children of God before. He adopted us out of the world and canceled the contract that we were subject to through the Old Testament law, which only brought death (Romans 7:10). Now we have the law of grace and God’s favor, because as believers we are no longer slaves, but a part of God’s heavenly family.
