A Glimpse into Our Journey

When we first embarked on our homeschooling adventure, the questions were overwhelming:

“Am I really capable of doing this?” “Where do I even begin?” “What should I teach?” “Where can I find support?” “How does this work?” “Is this really normal?”

Neither my husband nor I had been homeschooled, but we both wanted to create something special for our children—a perfect experience. With little more than hope and determination, we took the plunge.

At first, I tried to do it all. I believed homeschooling had to follow a strict path, something that resembled the traditional schooling we knew. But that wasn’t true at all.

Our first year was wonderful in many ways, but it wasn’t long before we started feeling overwhelmed and burned out.

Balancing homeschooling with preparing meals, keeping up with housework, managing our jobs, and somehow finding time for ourselves felt impossible.

We felt trapped by the curriculum, and when we couldn’t finish every page of every book, it felt like we were failing.

After that tough year, we made a promise to ourselves—to find a better way, and we did.

Now, our days are filled with joy and discovery. We’ve let go of the “slave to school” mentality, giving our children the freedom to fall in love with learning, rather than just “getting through” schooling.
