Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don’t listen because you don’t belong to God.”John 8:47
When one of our brother’s or sisters in Christ comes to you and tries to encourage you with God’s word, please don’t dismiss them. I’ve seen this happen several times and it’s sad really, because we become like someone who doesn’t belong to God.
Sometimes people can’t tell that a person is a Christian, because some Christians act worse than some of the people in the world. It can make you question if they really came out of the world! We can never think that we are too smart and wise to hear God’s word from someone other than ourselves, because we become puffed up by our so called knowledge and end up knowing nothing, because the greatest knowledge is the love of Christ.
Listen to Paul’s prayer and let us truly take it to heart and, even include it in our prayers:
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.Ephesians 3:14-19
If you don’t know Jesus as your personal Savior, then receive Him now. Your citizenship will be in heaven and you will become a child of God.
Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
SAY this beginning PRAYER:
God I’m a sinner and right now I turn from my sins. I ask you to forgive my sins, that I may be right with you. I believe that Jesus Christ: lived, died and that He rose from the dead. Right now, I ask you Jesus to be my Savior and Lord, that I may have eternal life in heaven. Thank you God for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
