The word came to Jeremiah from the Lord when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashhur son of Malkijah and the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah. They said: “Inquire now of the Lord for us because Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon is attacking us. Perhaps the Lord will perform wonders for us as in times past so that he will withdraw from us.” But Jeremiah answered them, “Tell Zedekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am about to turn against you the weapons of war that are in your hands, which you are using to fight the king of Babylon and the Babylonians who are outside the wall besieging you. And I will gather them inside this city. I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm in furious anger and in great wrath. I will strike down those who live in this city—both man and beast—and they will die of a terrible plague. After that, declares the Lord, I will give Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the people in this city who survive the plague, sword and famine, into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who want to kill them. He will put them to the sword; he will show them no mercy or pity or compassion.’

Some people are so distracted while driving, that when they finally pay attention to the road and not their cell phones, it’s too late to turn, then tragedy happens.  We can be the same way in our lives as well, where we live distracted lives.

There’s a common problem that people have, believer or not and that is waiting too long to respond to the call.  Many have missed blessings, ministry opportunities, loss time to spend with loved ones before they passed away, important deadlines that would shape our future, love, etc.

It’s so important and above all things not to miss the call of God.  God calls everyone to turn from their life of sin and turn to Jesus Christ, but some people are so negligent, that they want to do what they need to do, but they wait until its too late to change their mind.

Once the door of salvation is closed in your life, there are no more chances!

Christians can sometimes have similar issues, where God wants us to give, encourage, or deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ to someone, but the opportunity comes and goes and we’re left with regret.

Sometimes, our work, or ministry consumes our lives and the world consumes the minds of our children, because we have neglected our first ministry – our family!  We really need to be close to God, not just for others, but for ourselves and not just for ourselves, but especially for our families!  Keep your eyes, ears, and mind open to receive from God.  You never know what may be in stored for you, or what He may be trying to protect you from!

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

It is very hard to do life alone, let alone without God. The stress of this world will overtake you, if you are not grounded in faith and the knowledge of who Jesus Christ is.

Let’s pray:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
