“By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be glorified.” Lev 10:1-3
Working an internship years ago, I was given a task. I was to take some papers into the copy room, chop them into fours and make fliers for a club on campus.
It was a big stack of paper and a BIG task. I thought I’d cheat a little by taking large stacks of paper and chop them at the same time.
It worked, only the quality was not good. The edges where choppy, not the perfect square wanted and some were even lopsided. Not really presentable, but I had got the job done and I was proud of myself for all the time saved, I was sure my boss would be delighted.
Not! I was scolded in front of the office because my boss was so disappointed, this club was close to her heart, and she desired PERFECTION.
I learned a valuable lesson that day.
Profane!
In Leviticus 10, two of Aarons sons Nadab and Abihu were given a task in which the Lord required absolute PERFECTION. As priest, they were required to offer holy fire to God on holy censors.
Yet, they placed unholy fire in their censors, laid incense on the fire and offered the incense before the Lord. This was not God-established, therefore the fire was not holy, but “Profane!”

Rules were established in Exodus 30 for the type of fire and incense to be presented to the Lord, so when they blatantly disobeyed God, their punishment was dire.
Fire from the Lord went out and devoured them, and they died before Him.
Nadab and Abihu offended God when they offered their “strange fire” up to Him.
“By those who come near Me, I must be regarded as holy; and before all the people I must be glorified.” Lev 10:1-3
The men disregarded Gods holiness, honor, and reverent fear of Him; thus their punishment laid a foundation for those to come.
We Have Requirements
We cannot do things that the Lord hasn’t commanded us, EVEN if we think it will worship and honor Him.
For example, common among Christians doing yoga is meditation and poses. The Bible tells us to meditate on the Word day and night, not to meditate with our legs folded, fingers positioned in the Hindu poses, “humming” to God. This meditation dishonors God, and it is idolatry. Joshua 1:8

We are to be on our hands and knees praying to God, that brings honor to the Lord. It is better to wait on and follow the Lord’s instructions so that we can be blessed.
When we do what we think is “right,” we bring judgement upon ourselves. Gods way is the best way.
Do things with understanding
Do things with understanding from the Lord, don’t rush and don’t question the Lords authority!
Loving God means doing what he tells us to do, this isn’t hard at all; for every child of God can obey Him, defeating sin and evil pleasures by TRUSTING Christ to help us. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he who BELIEVES that Jesus is the Son of God. 1John 5:3-5
By no Other NAME
By no other name than Jesus Christ can you enter into heaven. If you are living outside of Gods will then the same fate that fell on Nadab and Abihu will fall on you. See Jesus already paid the price for us, you’ve heard it before, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
Will you escape the fate of Nadab and Abihu by allowing Christ into your life, are you ready to walk in obedience to God?
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
