“But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.”
Philippians 3:20-21
We eagerly look forward to the return of Jesus Christ!!! It’s a good thing We need to get excited about Jesus coming back to fulfill His promise to His church! “What promise?” you might ask. In John 14:1-3 Jesus tells His disciples,
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
John 14:1-3
Through the disciple, Jesus promises to come back and get us and take us to be with Him in His Father’s house, where there are many mansions or places that he is preparing for us. He told His disciples that He wouldn’t lie to them.
Then Paul gets a revelation of a mystery in 1 Corinthians 15:52.
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:52
Paul received insight into how the Rapture was going to happen. He tells us that it will be super fast and that we will be here one moment, then gone in the next moment. He also tells us that there will be some Christians that don’t die. We even receive brand new bodies, perfected and able to coexist in God’s presence.
Paul reveals more about Jesus’ promise.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
Jesus will sound the trumpet of God and cry out a loud shout, once for the dead in Christ, who will be caught up first, and again for the living. The believer will be united with their saved loved ones, who have died before them. We all join Christ in the air on the clouds and live with Him forever.
So What Should We Do?
Paul tells us to comfort one another with these words, and don’t grieve without hope like the rest of the world. Jesus tells us not to let our hearts be troubled about the future because He is coming back for us. The Rapture is the mystery of God and the blessed hope.
As the world gets darker, let your light shine brighter. Even though these times are uncertain, let your faith be sure. Continue to pray and study God’s Word. God knows what He’s doing and He’s not surprised by what’s going on in the world. Jesus never breaks a promise.
“…Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” – Revelation 22:20
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
