I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!
Philippians 3:10-11
The Application of Faith
Can you say what Paul said? In order to experience that mighty power of God, that raised Jesus from the dead, we will have to suffer with Him. What does that mean? When we endure the trials in life God’s power is activated by our obedience.
We have all suffered things in life, but was it to the glory of God, or were we just happy to get through the suffering. God’s power was working in and through Jesus because of His obedience unto death, even the death of the cross. Jesus, no matter how much He wanted to He could not give up. Therefore, after He died He received glory and honor when He rose from the dead. His resurrection opened the door for us to have our sins washed away and experience His mighty power in our lives.
Neither can you give up! Ultimately, there is only one thing that matters in this life and that is to know Jesus Christ. Paul tells us that he considers everything else to be garbage because Jesus is the way to true life. Why was it so important for Jesus to be resurrected? Because without that we have no faith, no purpose, no power against sin, and no hope.
When Jesus was resurrected the Bible tells us that a Christian is resurrected with Him spiritually. When the Christian dies, they have the assurance that they will also be resurrected physically. Do you have that hope today?
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
