“For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ…”2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5 AMP

2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5

In this generation, we are faced with so many opposing forces that seek to degrade the gospel of Jesus Christ and ultimately destroy our faith. The culture of today develops social groups and political leaders to establish their own righteousness apart from God, based on ever-changing human desires.

But look at what Paul is saying here. We have divine power through the simple gospel and the Word of God to tear down strongholds of false ideas, secular nonsense, and doctrines of demonic forces that come so close to the truth, they can cause otherwise well-to-do Christians to be deceived.

Don’t Believe Everything you Hear

We have to be very careful nowadays about what we accept as the truth. I recently heard a prominent pastor tell his congregation and online viewers that we should, “throw God’s word back in His face.” He read Luke 18:1-8 the “Persistence Widow.” He said, “God is bound to His Word and therefore He has to perform it!” He continued saying, “You have a legal right to God’s promises.”

Really! Really! I don’t think so! This is an example of demonic doctrines that can entangle themselves with the truth. It doesn’t matter how good you’ve been or how many acts of kindness you’ve done, God follows His own will and His own way. He does not give us everything we ask for just because we want it. If would be unloving parents to give our kids everything they want, what could be said about the perfect Father, if He did the same? Everything that God does or allows has to work according to His preordained plan.

What does the bible say about the last days?

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

2 Timothy 4:3

He said, “A great number of teachers,” but people don’t believe they’re being deceived, because it feels so good to hear things that make you feel good about yourself. Some pastors are just motivational speakers, rather than Bible teachers. Don’t let your ears itch. The Word of God is our standard of truth. It is our weapon against lies and spiritual attacks. It is able to cast down every false argument and bring every thought into submission to God’s truth.

We fall into error when we mix what the bible says with our human philosophies. When the devil puts lying thoughts in your mind cast them down in the name of Jesus. When doubt fills your heart replace it with faith. Arm yourself with the sword of the Spirit (the word of God, Ephesians 6) to destroy the arguments of people who try to convince you that what you believe as a Christian is wrong.

Paul says that the weapons of our warfare are mighty, not of the flesh, but of the Spirit. Stand your ground in your mind, speech, and in everything you do. You have incredible power in Christ! Use it!

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
