“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.Matthew 6:2
When you think about it, we are so blessed. Blessed to see another day, blessed to have family or friends who love and care for us. We are blessed to have food, clothes, shoes, even a roof over our heads. Everyone’s circumstances aren’t the same, even if we are lacking in an area, we can still find it in us, to bless others in more need than we are. Today’s challenge can seem hard for a struggling family, or easy for a well-off family. Either way, today’s scripture reminds us NOT to show case how we display God’s love to others by giving.
Today’s act of Christmas Kindness is:
Buy extra groceries for your local food bank or pay for a family’s groceries in the store. You can even bless them with a food gift card, or a grocery store gift card!
Every day until Christmas, there will be an act of Christmas Kindness that you can do with your family and a focus scripture for you to memorize and have your children write down as a memory verse. Get a FREE Act of Kindness Journal from this series here.
Don’t be discouraged if you miss a day, or change it up a bit to suit your family. These acts are made to extend far beyond Christmas. Invite friends and extended family members to join in. Have fun and ENJOY! It’s Christmas time!
