“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

Philippians 2:13

Where is the light?

In order for the light to shine it requires energy and a source of power. It’s also true that light and darkness cannot exist in the same space. Why then is there so much darkness in the world?

If Christians are the light of the world as Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, shouldn’t the world be brighter? The light of a Christian is revealed when a believer chooses to put God’s word into practice for all to see. The light cannot be darkness, therefore the marker of a true believer is in their conduct, the things they value, and the godly standards they live by.

Don’t Imitate the Darkness

Something that you must understand is that being a light in this corrupt world will require energy from us and great effort. We have to fight temptation, we have to practice self-control, and we must do what no one else in the world wants to do, which is, live for Jesus Christ.

We Have Incredible Power in Jesus

He alone is our power source who empowers us to live the Christian life. God is working in us. He is giving us the desire to do His will, but the problem is our will. At that moment when we have the opportunity to let out light shine, we must use what God has given us to fight the flesh and obey the Holy Spirit. It’s our choice.

With the incredible power God has put inside of you, be bold, be courageous, be a doer of God’s word, stand for righteousness in a wicked land, and be the light of the world. Jesus said,

“…and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Matthew 16:18

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
