Light
Don’t let your light grow dim!
“…since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, 10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony among you was believed.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-11
11 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power,
Even in this short passage of scripture Paul refuses to hold back the truth? He’s telling us that if we’re in Christ, our haters will pay the ultimate price. That’s why Jesus tells us to pray for those who persecute us. God’s vengeance is righteous upon those who not only reject Jesus but also come against His people.
Dimmed Light
America is in such an immoral condition because so many professing Christians have compromised their views on sin. So many Christians live to please people rather than God. They would rather ignore the tough truths in the Bible in order to be safe in society.
Yet, it’s because of the gospel and warning sinners to turn from sin, that the believers in the Thessalonian church were being persecuted.
Christians make up one of the largest groups in America, but we have the smallest voice when it comes to standing for what’s right in the sight of God. Who cares if people don’t like what we believe? No other group cares if people don’t agree. They just try to force them to accept their sins.
The Light Always shines brightly
If we don’t unite for Jesus Christ, soon they will use the law to keep us from even saying the name of Jesus in public. Transgenders are already trying to do that in Ontario, Canada. They’re trying to pass a law that will fine people twenty-five Thousand dollars for using “hate speech” within one hundred meters of a homosexual gathering or organization. That would basically include anything in the Bible that speaks against sin.
This means a real Christian church couldn’t function in those parameters. We need strong faith and God’s power to share the gospel of Jesus, to stand for righteousness no matter what, and to be unafraid to say what we believe. This is the kind of faith God has called us to. Either we use our freedom or we lose our freedom.

Some may read this and think, “How is this a devotion?” That’s the problem. Yes, we need to hear that we’ll make it through the storm and be reminded about God’s faithfulness, but we also need to be challenged into spiritual maturity. We need to remember that we are in this world, but we’re not of it.
If we truly love people, then we need to tell them the truth about Jesus Christ, heaven and hell, and how our sins condemn us without Christ. Jesus is coming back soon, but until then, let us be counted worthy of our Christian title, by being the light in a dark world.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
