Jesus Is Faithful To Reward Your Good Works

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. ⁶If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. ⁷If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. ⁸This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. ⁹“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. ¹⁰If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. ¹¹I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
John 15:5-11

The Vine and The Branches

We are the branches of the Lord and receive everything from Jesus, the vine. He supplies our needs and gives us hope so that we can give it to others. Jesus gives us faith so that we can do great things in His name. Without Jesus, we are poor useless, and ultimately dead, because we remove ourselves from the life-giving Vine.

Jesus desires for every believer to bear fruit in good works, which brings glory to His name and adds people to the kingdom of God, through the gospel. We are not our own. Even unbelievers are not their own because God created us all.

Therefore, God uses us for His own purposes. The wicked are subjects of wrath receiving God’s judgment and the righteous, subjects of grace, receiving glory from God.

The Conditions of God

Jesus has certain conditions that we all need to understand. If we remain in Jesus, we receive whatever desire to ask for, in faith and according to God’s will. If we don’t remain in Him, Jesus says that we are like a dead branch that is tossed into the fire.

We remain in the love of Christ, which means we experience the benefits of God’s love, if we obey His commandments. We also gain God’s favor and He opens doors that no man can close and closes doors that no man can open.

On top of that, we will have complete joy, if we remain in His joy. That means that only in Christ can we know what true joy really is.

Your Good Works are not Just for you

The sad part is that after many people have lived a life without real peace, love, and real joy, they end up in hell and separated from God. This is why the gospel is so important and why we must be willing to share it with unbelievers. It’s literally heaven or hell in the end.

So do good works for God, because it’s not just for you. Do good works so that you can be like Jesus. Do good to show your gratefulness to Jesus for the love He had shown to you by dying on the cross. The good works you do is out of obedience to God, but not to earn salvation, rather because you were saved to do them.

“What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you read it?” 27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” 28“You have answered correctly,” Jesus said. “Do this and you will live.”
Luke 10: 26-28

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
