A Focus On Your Family: Family Prayer Guide
Introduction
There is an attack on our children today. It’s in the news, in the street, practically everywhere we go, and its our job to protect our kids. Because the attack is so outright and prevalent, it can make us feel as if we are already defeated before we even begin! If you have a child going back to public school or currently in public school, you have a war on your hands. A war that involves outside forces attempting to capture and keep the mind of your child. These outside forces are influenced by satan, and there’s not much you can do to stop this influence alone. But with God all things are possible! In this prayer guide, we will discover How to Powerfully pray For Your back-To-School Kids. (Matthew 19:23-26)

You are NOT defeated. The enemy is defeated! The world might make us feel like we are already defeated before we begin, but that’s a lie from satan himself. We have the power and the authority given to us by Christ, to defeat this enemy, and it all starts right here, right now, in our homes. (Luke 10:19)

Before starting a Prayer…
Always be consistent in praying with your family. The more you do, the more they look forward to it, the more you grow as a family.
Our kids may be tired, we may be tired; either way, each prayer will be to the point. Yet leaving room for you to add additional prayers or expound upon the scriptures for days, weeks, or even a month.
Prayers can be done day or night. Whenever your family comes together!
Start off small, and then go as the Lord leads you. Don’t always expect things to be perfect. Add effort and allow God to do the rest.
You got this!
Ideally:
Turn off any electronics and distractions as much as possible at least 20-30 minutes before sitting down together.
Week 2
A Family Prayer For A Pure Heart In An Adulterous World | Day 8
“Happy Are Those Whose Hearts Are Pure, For They Shall See God.” Matthew 5:8
Prayer:
Lord, let us start and end this day with a pure heart. Father, many things in this world try to compete for our hearts. Help us to resist those things that do not reflect who we are in you. Help us to fix our thoughts on what is true and good and right. Help us to think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Remind us to think about all we can praise you for and be glad about. Help our children to turn away from things that are unholy and unrighteous as they encounter different things in their school, online, or outside our home.
In Jesus Christ holy name, amen.
Power Scriptures:
Philippians 4:8, 2 Timothy 2:22

A Family Prayer For Health | Day 9
“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed;
Save me and I will be saved,
For you are the one I praise.”
Jeremiah 17:14
Prayer:
Thank you for allowing us to see this day, Lord. We know that tomorrow is promised to no one. Father, bless our family to enjoy good health, that all may go well with us and that we may enjoy good spiritual health as well. Lord, if there is anyone in our family that is ill, we pray over them right now in the mighty name of Jesus and pronounce healing over them. You said that the prayer that is offered in faith will heal us. For You alone will make us well and any sickness caused by sin, you will forgive.
Thank you, Lord, your will be done.
Let us rejoice today and be glad.
In Jesus name, amen.

A Family Prayer For Purpose | Day 10

Prayer:
Lord, as we go about this day you have given us, show us our purpose. What do You have for us today? Lord, your word tells us that you have plans for our lives, for our children’s lives. Help us to live out our purpose, help us to know that you have created us into a masterpiece in Christ Jesus, to do good things which you have prepared for us in advance. Father, as we strive to live out our purpose for today, remind us that no matter what, “for those who love god all things work together for good, for those who are called according to” Your purpose. Help our children to remember that you have a purpose for them, that even while in school, they can continue to strive for purpose. Help them to understand that their education is a resource to advance the kingdom of God.
In Jesus Name, amen.

A Family Prayer For Making Decisions | Day 11

Please give us the wisdom to make the right decisions and the knowledge it takes to accomplish it. Lord, help us to not be anxious about it. Remind us to keep praying and praising, as Your word says, “do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Lord, we trust you, and recognize that You do have a plan for us and our children. Help them to make the right decisions at school, by staying within Your will. Guide them and make straight our paths as we submit to Your will.

A Family Prayer For When Things Get Tough | Day 12
“Persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” 2 Corinthians 4:9-10
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for today. Father, we are going through some tough times, and we really need you. You already knew the things we would face today. So, we call out to You in prayer, asking that You would help us and bring comfort and peace to our family.
Lord, bless our family with a spirit of peace in these tough times, and help us encourage each other, knowing that soon, this too shall pass.
Remind us that no matter what, we are not alone but that You care about us and the outcome of our situations. We shall declare that You alone are our refuge, our place of safety; You are our God, and we trust You. You will rescue us from every trap and protect us from deadly disease.
You will cover us with Your feathers. You will shelter us with your wings, Your faithful promises are our armor and protection. So, we are not afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
We don’t dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at our side, though ten thousand are dying around us, these evils will not touch us or our children.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Strengthen our children to stand for righteousness and to represent You, everywhere they go today. Thank you, Jesus! Give us strength Lord.
Your word tells us, “fear not, for I Am with you; be not dismayed, for I Am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

A Family Prayer For When Entering The Unknown | Day 15
“Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105
Prayer:
Lord, we can’t thank you enough for what You have done for our family, thank You for this day.
Father, we are entering the unknown. We have no idea what is before us, but You do.
Lord, as our children enter their schools and classrooms, they do not know what will be presented to them. But You do.
These situations aren’t unique to You. So, Father, we ask for Your guidance.
Although we are entering the unknown and even though we walk through the darkest valley, we will fear no evil, for You are with us; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort us. We are not alone!
You will bring our family victory. You will guide our feet, for Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths!
Father, go before us and make our crooked places straight!
In Jesus name. Amen!
