A Focus On Your Family: Family Prayer Guide: Week 1
Introduction
There is an attack on our children today. It’s in the news, in the street, practically everywhere we go, and its our job to protect our kids. Because the attack is so outright and prevalent, it can make us feel as if we are already defeated before we even begin! If you have a child going back to public school or currently in public school, you have a war on your hands. A war that involves outside forces attempting to capture and keep the mind of your child. These outside forces are influenced by satan, and there’s not much you can do to stop this influence alone. But with God all things are possible! In this prayer guide, we will discover How to Powerfully pray For Your back-To-School Kids. (Matthew 19:23-26)

You are NOT defeated. The enemy is defeated! The world might make us feel like we are already defeated before we begin, but that’s a lie from satan himself. We have the power and the authority given to us by Christ, to defeat this enemy, and it all starts right here, right now, in our homes. (Luke 10:19)

“They have acted corruptly toward Him,
They are not His children, because of their defect;
But are a perverse and crooked generation.”
Deuteronomy 32:5
Prayer:
Father, we know that we are living in a perverse and crooked generation. Please help our family love you with all our heart, with all our soul, mind and strength. Help my children to call upon you today in their prayers, as they go through the day. Help them to seek you first before they make any plans or do anything they question. Help them to be an example today Lord and help them to reflect you. Let people see the difference in them, the God in them. Help them to share the message of your love with someone today, Lord. In Jesus name, amen!

Deuteronomy 6:5, Mark 12:30-31

1 Peter 2:2
Prayer:
Father, please give us a desire to know you more. Give our family a hunger and a thirst for your word. Help my family to read your Word with understanding. Give us knowledge and insight, reveal to us the hidden things in Your Word that You want us to know. Father may each of us grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. Help us to test everything and to hold fast that which is true according to Your Word. Remind my children the truth of Your Word, when faced with lies, help them to resist deception and the evil that comes with it. In Jesus name, amen!

Prayer:
Lord, as we start this day, please provide us with everything we need to get through this day. Your Word teaches us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, then all the things that we need will be added unto us. Help us to depend on you as our provider and protector. Let us not try to do things in our own strengths, but to allow the Spirit of the Lord guide us into Your Will for our lives. Protect my children as they head out to school this morning and provide them with a way of escape if and when they need it. In Jesus name, amen.

And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for this day. Thank you for my children. Father, help my kids to remember everything we have taught them about Your Word, all our family lessons, Sunday sermons, and Sunday school lessons and Bible studies. Help them to remember Your Word today when someone says something to them that does not align with Your Word, or that is against Your Word. Help them remember that Your Word is True. For Your Word says, “Let God be true, and every human being a liar.” Lord, when we teach them Your Word, help them to heed our instruction, so they can stay on the path to LIFE. Father, let the peace of God come upon our children, and give them peace in their mind, when they feel scared or anxious today. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen!

that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Prayer:
Father, Thank you for waking us up this morning. We know many people didn’t get the opportunity that we have before us today, a brand-new day. Lord, help us to use our time wisely. Help us to make the most of every opportunity and know Your will for our lives. Help us to encourage one another in our family, as we gather throughout the day, or when we meet again this evening. Lord, as we go about planning how we want our day, please establish our steps. Let Your will be done today and not our own. For Your Word tells us, “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” Direct our paths today Lord and show us the way.
In Jesus name, amen.

A Family Prayer On Building Up | Day 6
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Prayer:
Lord, as we gather here in prayer, help us to remember that we love each other. Help us to put each other first before ourselves. Let us do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility valuing each other above ourselves, not looking to our own interests but the interests of each other. Help to encourage each other, not talk, or say mean things about each other. Finally, Lord, help us to be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger, so we can understand each other, and help one another. Give our children wisdom. Help them to be quick to listen at school today, and slow to anger and to speak. Remind them of who they are in Christ, if anyone tries to tell them who they think they are.
In Jesus name, amen.

Help us to be good parents towards our children, not provoking them to anger, but help us train them up and instruct them in the Lord. Lord, help our children to be their best today as they leave our home. Help them remember to set a godly example for other kids. Help them obey our commands, so that it will be well with them all the days of their lives.
