Todayโ€™s Live Inspired message dives into John 3:1-21 NIV, where the amazing gift of being born again, is misunderstood.

Today’s Reading Passage

John 3:1-21NIV

To Be Born Again

In this passage, we meet Nicodemus, a respected teacher who comes to Jesus at night, seeking to understand how one can see and enter Godโ€™s kingdom. Jesus gently explains that to be part of Godโ€™s kingdom, we must be “born again”โ€”a new spiritual birth through the Holy Spirit, not by natural means. He compares this spiritual rebirth to the wind: mysterious, powerful, and beyond our control.

The Amazing Gift of Christ

Jesus then shares one of the most famous verses in the Bible: โ€œFor God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal lifeโ€ (John 3:16). This powerful message tells us that Godโ€™s love is so great that He sent Jesus to save us. Salvation is a gift, not something we earn by our efforts.

Darkness Will NEVER Win

Furthermore, Jesus explains that He came as a light into a dark world, and while the darkness may try to hide the light, it can never overcome it. Those who choose to believe in Him are given eternal life and new hope, while those who reject Him remain in darkness.

Examine Your Life

This passage challenges us to examine our own lives: Are we open to being born again in Godโ€™s Spirit? Do we trust in the amazing gift of eternal life through Jesus? It reminds us that embracing Jesus brings true light and lasting life into our hearts.

Time To Reflect

  • What does it mean to be โ€œborn again,โ€ and why is it necessary?
  • Why did God send Jesus, and what does this tell us about His love for the world?
  • What is the difference between living in the light and hiding in darkness according to this passage?
