Not Peace, But a Sword
Jesus didn’t come to bring peace to the earth, but a sword! The reason why some homes are broken is not just because of physical or emotional problems, but many times it’s a Jesus problem. You might be the only person in your family who believes in Jesus, or maybe, you got married before you came to faith in Christ, but your spouse hasn’t made it yet.
Many of you may come from different countries where it is illegal or unsafe to openly live out your Christian faith. Whether your family, spouse, children, or friends reject Jesus, you have to stand firm on your faith and take up your cross. It is no longer us who lives, but it is Christ who lives in us: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith (Galatians 2:20).
Peace Through Complete Surrender
There was a time when Jesus spoke openly and a time when He spoke privately. God will direct you on how to use your faith in Christ most effectively. Draw close to Jesus, especially in these troubling times, and allow Him to operate in your life. The way to do that is through prayer, Bible study, fasting, and applying God’s word to your thinking, your words, and your actions.
Through surrender to God’s will and the power of the Holy Spirit, you will be who God has called you to be. If you truly live out the Christian life, you will be hated by this world because of Jesus, but this world and its ways are passing away, so don’t hold on to it. Let the cross be your motivation. Let everything that you do be done to the glory of Jesus Christ.
Peace Is Not Of This World
Don’t expect the world to have peace, but you can have God’s perfect peace, through Jesus Christ in this world. “…And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).”
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
