In today’s Live Inspired Podcast, we will look at how to be restored with forgiveness.
Then, when Job prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his wealth and happiness! In fact, the Lord gave him twice as much as before!”
Job 42:10
A Planned Attack
The Book of Job is about a man who loses everything at the planned attack of satan.
I say planned, because God uses this opportunity to test Job, knowing full well, what his response would be.
Yet, everything we go through, is not a result of something we’ve done wrong, or because God doesn’t love us. It was for us that Job experienced what He had; and for God to reveal a hinderance in his life.
For us
We need to see that just because bad things happen to us, doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love us. In fact, as long as we are in this world, we experience the hardships of a fallen world. We are to…
2 Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, 3 for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.
James 1:2-4 Living Bible
Reveal
Many times, God also wants to reveal something in our lives that is hindering us from reaching our full potentials in Him. In Job’s case, it was his wife. As she told him to curse God and die when all the bad things came upon Job. She was weak and her heart wasn’t towards God. When she left, Job was blessed with twice more.
9 His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
Job 2:9
She wanted Job to renounce God, which was satan’s plan all along, but Job refused. And we should too!
Bad Judgment
The Lord’s anger was aroused against Job’s friends for their bad judgement towards Job and not speaking of God in the right way. (Job 42:7)
They are commanded to take sacrifices to Job, so he could pray and ask God to forgive them.
So, here’s my point:
- God wanted Job to forgive them for their mistreatment of him.
We must forgive those who mistreat us, forgiveness brings deliverance.
- After, and only after Job prayed for his friends, did the Lord restore his loses. TWICE as much as he had before.
Restoration Brings Forgiveness!
Not only does forgiveness bring deliverance but being obedient to forgive and praying for our enemies, allows God to forgive us. (Mark 11:25)
Then we can walk in freedom and not oppression, we can fully experience the blessings from God.
“What can you let go of today?”
I want to invite you to know Christ today, true love, forgiveness, and freedom are only found in Him.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
