“We tell you the good news: What God promised our ancestors [33] he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising up Jesus. As it is written in the second Psalm: “ ‘You are my son; today I have become your father.’ [34] God raised him from the dead so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said, “ ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’ [35] So it is also stated elsewhere: “ ‘You will not let your holy one see decay.’ [36] “Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed. [37] But the one whom God raised from the dead did not see decay. [38] “Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. [39] Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses.”

Are You Free?
The daily news seems to be mostly negative and will drown out the joy that is only found in the good news about Jesus Christ. Although we must know what is going on in our nation and the world, much of it is designed by satan to keep us in constant fear and distracted. God’s word prophesied that these things would happen in the last days, but Jesus wants us to stay awake.
God promised long ago to people across all generations and of all nations that in the process of time and the weight of suffering, good news was coming. On the day when Jesus Christ was born and became the Son of God, God’s promise was fulfilled and Jesus would go forth to fulfill all righteousness on our behalf, for those who would place their faith in Him.
Not a moment was wasted in the events of history and everything was prepared for Jesus to come right on time and deliver us from the slavery of sin and punishment of hell. Make no mistake, He was a baby born to die and lifted up on the cross to draw all people to Himself.
He Wanted You Free
His only treasure in this world was us and His prayers were for us that not one of us would be lost. Don’t let the cares of this world draw you away from Jesus. Your inadequacy is the very reason why you need Jesus. You can’t do this life on your own and you’re too little to save yourself.
You need Jesus, I need Jesus, and everybody needs Jesus to make it through this life and make it into heaven. Not only do you need to believe the good news, but there are souls out there waiting to be saved through the word of your testimony about Jesus Christ.
Free Someone Else
Go tell it on the mountain! Shout It on the rooftops! Preach it in the streets! Testify about Jesus at the grocery store! Go and tell the world that Jesus Christ was born, that he was crucified on the cross, that He was buried in the grave, that He now lives because God raised Him from the dead, and that He is coming back again. You be the preacher of God’s promise and the anchor for the good news!
In Him we are justified and in Him we are forgiven. In Him we are free and through Him we are saved. He has “fulfilled for us… the holy and sure blessing promised to David,” so if you haven’t done so already, there is an invitation to receive what God has done for you, at the end of this devotion. Don’t wait. Do it now! Jesus is waiting for you.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
