Devotion:
There are seasons in life when everything feels slightly off. You love God. You are trying. You are praying. Yet things are not quite where you hoped they would be. The house is not finished. The finances are stretching. The ministry is growing, but slowly. The prayers are answered, but not fully.
It can be hard to be happy when life feels unfinished.
But Scripture gently reminds us that joy is not the reward at the end of the journey. Joy is meant to walk with us on the road.
Real Miracles
When the Israelites were delivered from Egypt, they experienced miracles most of us only read about. The Red Sea parted. Manna fell from heaven. Water flowed from rock. Yet their hearts often turned toward complaint instead of gratitude. Their circumstances were imperfect, but God’s presence was constant.
The tragedy was not that the wilderness was hard. The tragedy was that they allowed the difficulty to steal their trust.
Don’t Let Difficulty Steal Your Trust
We have to guard against the same thing. A blessing does not mean perfection. A promise does not mean there will be no process. God can be leading you faithfully while you are still in between where you were and where you want to be.
Faith says, “Even here, I will trust.”
Joy says, “Even here, I will give thanks.”
You do not want to become so focused on what is missing that you overlook what is already miraculous. The job you have. The family around your table. The strength to keep going. The quiet growth happening in your character.
Let The Lord Shape You
God is not only working on your destination. He is shaping you in the journey.
And sometimes the hard parts are the very places where faith deepens the most.
So instead of pouting through the wilderness, choose to trust through it. Instead of complaining about the timing, thank Him for the training. Instead of measuring how far you still have to go, pause and recognize how far He has already brought you.
Joy is not pretending everything is perfect. Joy is believing God is faithful even when it is not.
Live inspired. Trust deeply. Walk gratefully.
Prayer
Father,
When life feels unfinished or uncertain, help me remember that You are still present. Guard my heart from complaint and strengthen my faith in the process. Teach me to trust You in the waiting, to grow through the hard seasons, and to find joy not just in the promise, but in the journey.
Shape my character as You guide my steps. Let gratitude replace frustration and faith replace fear. I choose to trust You today, even here.

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me.
