Chosen!
Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
NLT Ephesians 1: 4-5
Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.
Ephesians 1:11
Jesus has chosen you today, if you’ve chosen Him!
So why did God choose you?
You know God is not ashamed of us if we’re not ashamed of Him. God accepts us if we accept Him. God is not afraid of what we think we can’t do, because He knows exactly what He has created us to do.
You may have said to yourself “I’ve never been really good at anything, never specialized in anything. I don’t even really have anything to show for myself.” Maybe somebody even said this to you.
If you can believe it, you’re actually on your path to success in Christ, because when you look at most of the people that God chose to do something great, they felt the same way you do.
I’ve felt this way and sometimes I still do.
Jesus looked at the 5 loaves of bread and the 2 fish and He saw more. He said it was enough! He looks at you and He sees more. He says you’re enough!
Moses who would lead God’s people out of Egypt said,
Lord, please! Send anyone else (Exodus 4:13).” Humble beginnings!
He said, “God who am I to lead these people, they won’t even listen to me besides, I can’t even talk right!” Even though he grew up as a prince in Egypt and lived like one, he felt washed up, besides it had been 40 years.
He was 80 years old and God was calling him to the purpose of his life, but he was content with being a shepherd over animals, because he allowed his past failures to overshadow his purpose.
Today maybe that’s you. Maybe you’ve let failures, and mistakes determine your ability and you may feel that you’ve never done anything great, so God can count you out, but God has chosen you just as you are, even if nobody else has.
Everybody has failures and mistakes and will continue to have them, but many times you’ll find that if you had not made that mistake, you wouldn’t have figured certain things out. That’s how penicillin was discovered, by accident, look up Alexander Flemings.
People who have felt unqualified, have actually done some of the greatest works for God. Moses is my example today!
God was like, “Moses, I didn’t set this bush on fire for nothin. This bush represents the fact the you will be on fire for me, but you will not get burned. No one will be able to touch you “It’s Me, not you. You think that you can do this alone? No, No, No! With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Moses said, “How can I do this?” God said, “I Am”. I Am what you need me to be, to do what you gotta do” He said ,
Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? 12Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.”
Exodus 4:11-12
God also knows when we need help to accomplish His purpose so He sent Aaron to help Moses out, until he got his rhythm and really in Christ we all need help!
It was God who empowered Moses to stand before the Pharaoh of Egypt and tell him to let God’s people go. It was God who empowered Moses to send those plagues on Egypt. It was God who empowered Moses to part the red sea and lead the people out. It was God who empowered Moses to be able to tolerate what the bible says was a unbelieving and stiff-necked people.
Difficulty?
They still had a slavery mentality, but that’s some of us today. Christ has set you free, but maybe you’re still enslaved with the old way of thinking.
Oh yeah! Moses had to deal with some difficult people and he made some mistakes, yet and still God found him worthy to talk to Him face to face.
Yes, in Christ you will have to deal with some difficult people and situations, even more when you’re in Christ.
At one point, even Moses’ brother and sister didn’t even feel that he was worthy of God’s honor. Miriam said, “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?”, but God’s calling is not based on our qualifications, but rather whom He chooses to perform His work through and so he tells Aaron and Miriam,
“he is faithful in all my house.
8 With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the Lord.
Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my servant Moses?”
Paul says,
26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.
1 Corinthians 1:26-30
It’s not about what you were when you first believed…
It’s about what makes out of you.
Those who choose Christ are Chosen and you will never be the same, if you allow God to change you.
God finds pleasure in making us apart of His family and a child loves to copy their parents. IF you have children you may know what I’m talking about.
Without Jesus we are nothing. Nobody can boast!
See those of us who are weak become greater than those considered to be strong, in the world. Those of us who are simple become wiser than those who are seen to be the smartest and those of us who formerly had no influence, influence the influencers, because God is with us and Christ is living inside of us and there is nothing impossible with God.
We have to stop trying to be what everybody else wants us to be and be who God has called us to be and if an opportunity falls in line with God’s will then great, but it’s God’s call.
Only God’s will and God’s plan can satisfy God’s standard and if we’re counting sheep, when we’re supposed to be fishers of men, then we’re going to fall short of God’s purpose. Meaning find out what God’s will is for your life, but know that the main purpose of a Christian is to tell everybody what Jesus Christ has done for us!
You may be experiencing the wilderness right now, but if you’re walking with God you’re headed to the promise land.
God sees you, He knows you, He’s working with you, He’s working for you and Christ is operating through you, if you are truly chosen.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:2-4
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10
So Why were you chosen? It’s simple, because God loves you!
If you don’t know whether God has chosen you, or not, you can find out by your decision to choose Christ or reject Christ today.
Salvation Plan
If you have not received Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, then do it now, and you will be a child of God and your citizenship will be in heaven with Jesus Christ!
Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
SAY this beginning PRAYER:
God I’m a sinner and right now I turn from my sins. I ask you to forgive my sins, that I may be right with you. I believe that Jesus Christ: lived, died and that He rose from the dead. Right now, I ask you Jesus to be my Savior and Lord, that I may have eternal life in heaven. Thank you God for saving me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
