“How can I be saved, or how can I get to heaven?” Many people ask, “Will my good deeds get me into heaven, or if I try to be good -I’m a good decent person; I do my part and read the bible sometimes.”
One thing is for certain, we all have different ideas of what a “good” person is. That’s why the ultimate example to follow is Christ Jesus. The Bible details what type of “good” person the Lord looks for, which is why being “good” will not get us into heaven without Christ. Nor can we work or buy our way into heaven.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one can get into heaven except by Jesus. There is only One Way- Christ, who bridges our way to God; so we can be sons/daughters of God and heaven. (John14:6, Eph2:1-6 &14-18)
We can only get to heaven by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. The Bible tells us by GRACE we have been saved through FAITH in Christ. We could do nothing to obtain this gift from God; nothing but accepting, trusting, and loving Him. (Eph2:8-9)
The Good Person?
“So I’ve never stolen anything, I haven’t killed anyone. I have lied, but we’re all human – I’m still a good person.” The problem, is if you’ve broken just one of the 10 Commandments, you ARE a sinner – a law-breaker, deserving death.
JESUS -yes! We need His forgiveness, and when we come to Him, asking for forgiveness; Jesus is FAITHFUL and JUST, to forgive us of All our sins. When we live according to His will, our reward is heaven. The gift of heaven is a special gift from God, which Christ made possible for us to obtain it by sacrificing Himself for us. Yes! Freedom is only found in Christ! “From the Lord comes deliverance,” and His blessing is on His people. This is the ONLY WAY to be saved and get to heaven. (1John1:9, Eph2:14-16, Ps3:8)
The Lord will NEVER forsake those who seek Him, for when we know Him, our trust is in Him. And we can be saved by no other name, but Christ Jesus. Accepting Christ’s salvation, is knowing He has the ultimate plan for our lives. He can take the motivation you once had for worldly passion and use it for His great purpose. He puts power behind our words for Him. (Ps.9:10, Acts4:11-13AMP, Phil3:1-11)
The psalmist asked God, “What is mankind that you are mindful of us, human beings that you care for us?” Yet, we’ve been translated into His kingdom of righteousness and He calls us FRIENDS – a CHILD of God.
God is our father, whom we love, when we BELIEVE and OBEY. (Ps.8:3-8, James2:23, Col1:13)
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that anyone who BELIEVES in him shall not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
