LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, You who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens.

Psalm 8:1

A Man After God’s Own Heart

David is playing his instrument to the Lord and he uses one of the names of God, in Hebrew it’s Yehovah Adonai, which in means God is Sovereign, Director, Ruler, Judge, and Supporter. When you read to the end of this psalm David repeats this phrase.

It’s quite obvious from this verse that David knows God personally. It seems that David was in trouble in the time that he was writing this psalm, because in the previous psalm, he’s praying to God to deliver him from his enemies.

David had a real relationship with God, through the ups and the downs.

“Have No Other God Before Me”

With all the things to do and see and taste and touch and experience in this world, with everything at your fingertips, and door dash on demand, many people ignore God.

Between work, the kids’ school, practices, games, and events, many who profess to be Christians have scheduled God out of their daily schedule.

But Jesus Christ did not shed His blood to produce a Mickey Mouse Club House compromising Christianity. His church is built on the Rock, which is Himself. He said don’t work for food, which perishes, but that which endures unto eternal life.

Far too often people who claim to be Christians have a half-true understanding about who God is and what He does.

They say that He’s loving, but He doesn’t judge. They say He can create, but He can’t cause calamity. Some Christians talk about heaven, but they say nothing about hell. This is a fake Joel Olstein type of Christianity, that produces many followers but not of the true Jesus of the bible.

It’s no wonder the world is so messed up. The world needs a strong church that knows what the bible says and refuse to deny it!

Paul says, “We believe; therefore, we speak!” What do you believe?

Do you really know the God of the bible?

When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

Psalm 8:3-4

It may come to your attention here that David only reflects on the moon and the stars, so his meditation on the Lord, must have been at night.

Do you consider the Lord at night, or do you consider the Lord at all?

God considers you and He sees you, not to catch you slipping, so that He can punish you, but God desires you to enter into fellowship and relationship with Him. He desires your attention. You know what it’s like to love someone and desire their attention. Wouldn’t it hurt if they want nothing to do with you.

God is always present, but it’s our responsibility to spend time with Him, so that we can experience His intimate presence, where He speaks to your spirit, gives you revelation of His word – if you’ve been in it, and you find the peace that only Jesus can give.

People say, “Where is God?” Well, where are you?

Do you have fellowship with God? How often do you pray? How often do you study, not just read, but study your bible? How often do you fellowship with other likeminded Christians?

If you don’t do any of these things, how can you possibly have enough faith in Jesus Christ to save your soul!

A True Christian

There’s a lot of wayside false-converts, that never really made it to true faith, because they failed to actually follow Jesus Christ and grow to become more like Jesus. As Christians we reflect the light of Jesus to the world. The darkness of the world should never be accepted in the church.

Jesus said, “Where your treasure is your heart will be also.”

Hebrews 11:6 says

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

There are some who might be listening, who need to be reminded that God exist, because you have neglected your first love.

None of our prayers will be answered, if we are not right with God, except the prayer of repentance. Neither will our prayers be answered if we don’t believe God can do it!

The bible ironically says, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” The bible says, “Listen to me!”

Being a follower of Jesus is not a button that you can press on your social media platform to get instantly connected. No!

It’s not all about what you can get from Jesus, but it’s about what you are willing to give up for Jesus to follow Him.

Paul said,

“More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them mere rubbish, so that I may gain Christ…”

2020

In 2020, I busted my head on the pantry door in my kitchen. I had blood gushing from my head on my face onto the floor. I pretended to be tough, but I thought that was it for me. I saw my life flash before my eyes, and I didn’t know what was going to happen.

Thank God my wife was home, the ambulance came, and I survived, without brain damage.

But, if that was it, I knew that I was right with God and I lived my life for Him, so I had peace in that.

Will you be With Jesus?

On that great day when Jesus sounds His trumpet, and the righteous are caught up in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, those that did not know Him, will be left to suffer what the bible calls His great and terrible wrath and then it says, “Who can endure it?”

I don’t know about you, but I want to see Jesus. You can have this whole world, I don’t want it, but give me Jesus!

Church, Jesus says,

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name, your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:9-10

Will you be ready for the coming of the Lord?

In Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus says this,

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Matthew 7:21-23

If you don’t know the Lord Jesus Christ, don’t turn off this video yet. Turn away from your sins now and turn to Jesus Christ. Tomorrow is one day too late.

The bible says,

“Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

Acts 3:19

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
