Why 21 Days of fasting and praying is important, has to do with the fact that we are Christians. As Christians, we are called to be sober and vigilant. Always keeping watch, knowing that the enemy is at hand. Matthew 26:41, Habakkuk 2:1

What better way to fight back at the enemy than to start this year with prayer and fasting.

Our cry out to the Lord to preserve us in this fallen world. To protect us in a world of chaos and destruction.

There is no doubt about it, our nation is in trouble, the people of America are in trouble.

But God is still in charge, our God still sits on the throne in heaven.

Fasting: What can we do?

We can start this year off with fasting and praying for our nation.

Not only for our nation, but yours and your family’s needs.

Why 21 Days of fasting and praying is Important

For 21 days, we will fast and pray together.

It doesn’t matter when you start. Maybe your church started a fast and you were not ready, or maybe you have been meaning to do this every year. Whatever the issue, don’t let it stop you now.

“It’s not how you start that’s important, but how you finish!”― Jim George

Use our 21 Days of Praying and Fasting E-Book, to encourage you and inspire you to keep going. We’re in this together!

We so need this as a nation, and prayer changes things, it always has. We must have faith.

Our weapons are supernatural. We fight our battles in prayer and praise. This year belongs to God, and we pray His WILL be done!

Below you will find a list of main prayers that you can include on your prayer list for this fast.

You will also find ideas on ways to fast. These may be common ideas most churches follow, but health is our main concern when fasting. We must keep ourselves healthy to fight away colds and viruses. So do not forget those vitamins and drinking plenty of water in whatever fast you are doing.

If you have another idea for a fast, will you share it here? This will inspire someone!

Fasting Ideas

Before you think of a way to fast, decide if your entire household will fast with you.

What will snacks and meals look like for the kids, if you are doing any sort of food fast.

If technology is your fast, decide what that will look like for the kids.

The Daniel Diet, also known as the Daniel Fast

We first ever did this diet completely last year in 2020 with our church. Before then, we did various other fasts, but always wanted to try this one. It was amazing! The power of praying and fasting together holds strong here.

If you decide to do this plan, be sure to prepare ahead of time.

Are you constantly consumed by the media, have you discovered that your phone beeps at every new piece of news or update on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.?

A media fast might be just what you need.

The Media Fast

The media fast will help you to refrain from intaking any form of media that has been distracting you from living your lives each day with a spiritual purpose.

There is never an intention to be consumed by media. It just happens. Login to Facebook and you end up scrolling for hours, the same can happen on Instagram.

Because of this very reason, we got rid of Instagram. And we never use our other media sources except to automatically post from our blogs. Facebook is another thing.

If you find start to watch one video on YouTube or Facebook and then that turns into 3 more videos and then you quickly realize you’ve spent over an hour watching something that you never intended to watch nor was interested in, it’s time to redirect your focus on Jesus instead of the constant distractions that come along with media.

The other means of fasting can be found here.

The timing of your fast is not as important as the strength of your focus on God as you fast. So, join us today!

Preparing Spiritually/ Salvation Plan

Before you can begin any fast, you want to make sure you are right with the Lord and that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Confess your sins to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of weakness. Forgive all who have offended you and ask forgiveness from those you may have offended (Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; Luke 17:3-4). Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ and be ready to reject the worldly desires that try to hinder you (Romans 12:1-2).

If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we want to pray with you.

Let’s pray:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

What now?

The next thing you want to do is go into prayer, ask the Lord what type of fast you should do. Allow the Lord to lead you for the success of your fast and the duration.

Once you know what type of fast you want to do, start making a list of how to go about it: A list of prayers to keep in mind, preparation, and support. We are here for you!

If you have just received Christ, read the Book of John in the Bible. Find out who Christ is, and how He loves you, yes you!
