Get back up!

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Has temptation found its way into your life?

Are you tempted to fall back into your past sins, or to do those things, which you know are unpleasing to God?

Maybe you’re tempted to watch pornography (sexually explicit: pictures, books, magazines, videos, chats, phone calls), to drink alcohol, get high on drugs, commit adultery (sex outside of heterosexual marriage), to break the law (steal, lie on your taxes, lie on your timesheet at work), to be quiet when you need to give a reason for your faith in Jesus Christ, or log into Facebook during your social media fast?

If you have given in or slipped up a bit, don’t beat yourself down.

If you are struggling with temptation, just remember that you are not alone. Remember Peter?

Yes, even Christ’s own disciple was tempted and failed miserably.

But the awesome good news we have in Christ, is that even when we fall, we can get back up, but when we do, we have to turn from sin (repent).

You have to soak yourself in the bible – where we find the words of life, devote yourself to prayer, and fast when necessary. Replace those urges to sin, with prayer and write down those scriptures that empower you to overcome temptation:

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13

Today, let’s be an example for people to follow. Share the gospel of Jesus Christ with someone. You could be giving them a second chance at life – from hell to heaven.

Think about someone who can really use some encouragement and lift them up with God’s Words.

Pray:

Lord, keep me from temptation and make me strong. Father, I know I can do this, in your strength. I pray that you will show me someone to share the gospel with today. In Jesus Christ Holy name, amen.

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
