If we look at the state of the church, it’s pretty unpredictable and the statistics are scary, but isn’t this how Jesus said it would be? It’s hard to tell who’s truly for Christ and who’s perpetrating, but God knows.
God knows whose beliefs match up with what the bible says and whose worldview is more like the world, than Christian. We can talk like a crop of wheat, but our so-called faith could be good for nothing like a field of weeds is to a farmer.
So why should we encourage those who claim to be Christians, but we know they are far from it? It’s because we never know who may turn out to be wheat. That’s why the owner of the field said, “let them grow together” because the servant would pull up some of the wheat with the weeds. Other versions say tares, which are a specific weed that so closely resembles wheat that you have to wait until harvest in order to tell the difference.
It’s not for us to decide who goes to heaven or hell. Jesus is in charge of that. He is the perfect farmer who has patience and allows time for people to make a decision. Don’t be a weed planted by the enemy. Don’t be a counterfeit Christian. Be faithful to Christ until the end, because the end is what truly matters!
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
