“But you, Bethlehem
Ephrathah,
Though you are littleamong the thousands of Judah,
MICAH 5:2
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting.”
Was the birth of Jesus the beginning of His existence?
The answer is no because He always was. In fact, the same God who created the heavens and the earth and said, “Let there be,” was the same God living inside of the human baby Jesus. Jesus became a man, but He was always God. He was 100% God and 100% man on the earth. He was born King, but He made Himself a servant – healing the sick, raising the dead, blessing the children, and washing the feet of the disciples.
The Word
The Bible says,
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1
Before He was Jesus, His name was “The Word.” He is from old, meaning – eternity. He is the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. That’s amazing, and it’s true, but so many don’t value human life anymore, even some Christians.
No human life is too small. God values the life of the unborn so much that He became that unborn child. The truth is that you have to be unborn before you can be born, right? Then why do some Christians support abortion? We know that even Mary did not consider her body to be her own when the angel told her she would give birth to Jesus. She knew that God had placed another body inside of her – His own! Thank God Mary didn’t get rid of Jesus, right?
But what does all of this mean for you and me today?
If God prepared for himself to be born in the virgin Mary, before the world began, for us to have eternal life, then it’s not impossible for Him to give us a future and hope in this life. Bethlehem wasn’t too small of a place for Jesus to be born, and you are not too small of a person for Him to take care of.
Yes, God sees you, loves you, and if you have put your trust in Him, He is with you. He will never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He will not abandon you, nor is He willing to do without you.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
