What do you imagine when I say it’s almost Easter time? Do you think about bunnies, chicks, candy, baskets, and egg hunts? All those things are fun, but they have absolutely nothing to do with Easter. Today’s devotion will be the truth about why Easter was needed.
“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time…” 2 Timothy 1:9
Our Sins Are Great, So Easter Was Needed
Once Upon a time, God created everything we see and those things we don’t see. He created you and me and made us in His image so we could live with him forever. However, one day sin came into our lives.
It’s your sins that have cut you off from God.
Because of your sins, he has turned away
and will not listen anymore.
3 Your hands are the hands of murderers,
and your fingers are filthy with sin.
Your lips are full of lies,
and your mouth spews corruption.4 No one cares about being fair and honest.
The people’s lawsuits are based on lies.
They conceive evil deeds
and then give birth to sin.
5 They hatch deadly snakes
and weave spiders’ webs.
Whoever eats their eggs will die;
whoever cracks them will hatch a viper.
6 Their webs can’t be made into clothing,
and nothing they do is productive.
All their activity is filled with sin,
and violence is their trademark.
7 Their feet run to do evil,
and they rush to commit murder.
They think only about sinning.
Misery and destruction always follow them.
8 They don’t know where to find peace
or what it means to be just and good.
They have mapped out crooked roads,
and no one who follows them knows a moment’s peace.9 So there is no justice among us,
and we know nothing about right living.
We look for light but find only darkness.
We look for bright skies but walk in gloom.
10 We grope like the blind along a wall,
feeling our way like people without eyes.
Even at brightest noontime,
we stumble as though it were dark.
Among the living,
we are like the dead.
11 We growl like hungry bears;
we moan like mournful doves.
We look for justice, but it never comes.
We look for rescue, but it is far away from us.
12 For our sins are piled up before God
and testify against us.
Yes, we know what sinners we are.
13 We know we have rebelled and have denied the Lord.
We have turned our backs on our God.
We know how unfair and oppressive we have been,
carefully planning our deceitful lies.
14 Our courts oppose the righteous,
and justice is nowhere to be found.
Truth stumbles in the streets,
and honesty has been outlawed.
15 Yes, truth is gone,
and anyone who renounces evil is attacked. The Lord looked and was displeased
Isaiah 59:2-15 TLB
to find there was no justice.
We Needed A Savior, Easter Began Before Time

We needed to be saved from our sins, if not, we would all go to hell. Sin separates us from God because God is GOOD sin is not.
Hell is where sin goes, God did not make us for hell. That is for the devil. So in the beginning God created a plan to save us before we ever fell into sin. That plan was Jesus!
This is the beginning of Easter, and this is the truth about why Easter was needed. Jesus was the plan. Jesus is God in the flesh! He came to save us from our sins. God promised us salvation and everlasting life with Him. Easter or Resurrection Day, is seen as a triumph over death and sin, offering eternal life to believers. The necessity of Easter lies in its affirmation of faith and hope; without the Resurrection, the foundation of Christian belief would be absent.
Have you accepted what Jesus did for you, and asked for your sins to be forgiven?
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
