“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Matthew 7:24-27
The House Is Tested!
The winds that blow and the waters that crash against the house test the foundation that the house is built on; the quality of the structure; just how much that house can take before it crumbles.
People fall away from the faith because there was no structure to their faith. Their faith was limited to clear skies and sunny days. Who would buy a house that only survives when the climate is favorable.
Faith, Love, and Trust Must Be Tested
No. Faith must be tested. Love must be tested. Trust must be tested. Love is immaterial and only becomes material when it is demonstrated by what we do.
Do you really love Jesus? Faith is not faith unless God gives us the opportunity to have it. How is your faith holding up? We can’t say that we trust God unless we are faced with difficulties in life to prove that we trust God in the midst of it all. Do you really depend on God?
Storms, Trials, And Hardships Are A Necessary
Our storms, trials, and hardships are a necessary evil in this life to build us up into what we have been created in Christ to be. When Christ is your firm foundation there is no storm that can destroy your faith.
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
