World's Foolishness Vs. God's Wisdom

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

1 Corinthians 2:6

No matter how much a person claims to have read the bible, the bible is not just a simple novel to read. If a person either reads the bible as an atheist, with skepticism and unbelief, or simply tries to read it without receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior, neither person will receive a true understanding of the scriptures. Their spiritual eyes have not been opened.

People who only search for God in the science lab, or in the universe will never get the point unless God opens their eyes through the gospel of Jesus Christ, to understand that He’s not another part of nature and He’s not some image formed by the hands of people. God is not who we make Him up to be in our minds, but He is who He says He is. God speaks for Himself and says,

“To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal
And compare Me, that we should be alike?

Isaiah 46:5 NKJV

Don’t think that it’s strange when people reject your preaching from the word of God as foolishness because it’s not our word. Secondly, the only message from the bible for unbelievers is repentance and the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is able to save our souls. The spiritual lessons of the bible are for spiritual Christians. The Apostle Paul says,

No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.

1 Corinthians 2:7

God’s wisdom is for the glory of bible-believing Christians. We therefore can’t imitate the lifestyles of the world, participate in the same entertainment that leads to sin, or reason with mere human philosophy. Rather we must acknowledge who God is, remember the kind of Christians the bible says we’re supposed to be and ask God to help us draw others out of the darkness and into His marvelous light.

Don’t feel ashamed when people bash you because of Jesus. Embrace it! We have received special wisdom that they cannot understand because they have ears and cannot YET hear. The Apostle Paul says,

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. 19As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise

and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”

20So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. 21Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. 22It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom. 23So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.

1 Corinthians 1:18-23

So, let God be true and every human being a liar (Romans 3:4).

Salvation Plan

Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:

God, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins, and I ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross and rose from the grave, for me. I open my heart and life for You to come in, and I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You, God for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
