Let these lessons of peace inspire you and your children. The small video series was based off our Live Inspired message “Peace Be Still,” which will show at the end of the miniseries.
The four video messages were done by Ryah, Ronnie, Kristen, and Faith, in 2020. Students and young staff members of the Randomnestfamily site.

Where applicable, the curriculum lessons are self-contained, meaning sections of scriptures are included for faster reference, and the videos, while fun for kids are not really necessary. Use any translation you like whether you are using this Bible study online or the curriculum. The best Bible translations for understanding are used in this study. The curriculum has links to the videos below, when using offline.
“I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Before starting your bible Study…
Always be consistent in having Bible study with your family. The more you do, the more they look forward to it, the more you grow as a family.
Our kids may be tired, we may be tired; either way, each lesson will be to the point. Yet leaving room for you to expound upon scriptures for days, weeks, or even a month.
These lessons can be done day or night. Whenever your family gets together to study!
Start off small, and then go as the Lord leads you. Don’t always expect things to be perfect. Add effort and allow God to do the rest.

Step 1: Rejoice!
Memory Verse: Philippians 4:4
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!
Do You Want Peace?
Do you have a reason to rejoice? What about your family?
Many people go through many things, this doesn’t leave the family exempt. Every family has their times of sadness, mourning and happiness.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance…” Ecclesiastes 3:1,4
Why should your family rejoice? Because it upsets the devil’s agenda. He can’t keep your buttons pressed, because your rejoicing deactivated your frustrations; your rejoicing allows your spirit to take over and the flesh gets put away.
Have you ever tried to press a button that you know was working before, but for some reason you just couldn’t get it to do what you wanted it to do? When you resist the temptation to stay upset, then the devil must flee and you defeat the enemy in your situation!
Optional Family Discussion Topics:
- What are some reasons your family can have peace?
- What are reasons to rejoice in your family?
- Was there ever a situation where sadness turned to rejoicing?
Talk with your family about any or all of these topics, allow your little ones a turn too!

Step 2: Be Gentle or gracious to all men.
Memory verse: Philippians 4:5
“Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”
What does it take to have a gentle spirit?
Our gentleness can be a strength instead of a weakness.
Don’t let what you’re going through change the righteous character that the Holy Spirit has put in you.
The enemy wants to nothing more but to destroy your families testimony. This life that we live is only temporary.
“For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” 2 Corinthians 5:1
Peter told Jesus in Matthew 16:22 “Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Pertaining to Christ going to the Cross.
Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
Christ refused to allow the enemy to destroy what he came to do.
Sometimes when people upset us, it might not be on purpose, yet, even is it is, there are always satanic forces behind the evil things people do.
Optional Family Discussion Topics:
- What steps can your family take to show gentleness to each other, to other people?
- How do you handle being offended as a family?
Parents discuss as a family how you handle someone offending you, while still showing gentleness. If there was a wrong way in the past, and you feel comfortable to discuss it, tell why it was handled badly and talk about things you would have done differently.

Step 3: Get on Your Knees, pray!
Memory Verse: Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Get on your face before God as a family!
Sometimes our heads are in the clouds, because of the places we want to go, the people we want to be, the things we want to do, and the money we want to make, but we need to be in God’s face, to feed on who He is, to access His kingdom and not just for ourselves.
When we pray for others, ESPECIALLY as a family, that’s when we begin to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
Family prayer can start off awkward sometimes, but the more you do it, the more your family practice it, the easier it becomes.
When you cast all your anxieties, the fear, anger, and stress at the feet of Jesus, then you can truly have peace. The bible says, “Cast” “Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Step 4: Give Thanks to God!
Memory Verse: Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Even When It’s Hard!
If your family is dealing with a hard issue, it might be hard to think about giving thanks. You might even think that this doesn’t apply to every situation.
As a family, give God thanks any ways! Do it right now, start praising God as a family.
How does your family feel now?
What kinds of thoughts went through your heads as you did this?
Praising God together should bring a sense of strength to your family. When you lose yourselves in this, the power of the Holy Spirit can be felt.
It is so very important for us to remember our Egypt, how God has brought your family out of bad situations or tough situations. You must be confident in knowing that God will do it again.
Your family is worth it!
Give thanks with a grateful heart, because there is no better gift than Jesus. He is the only necessary thing in your lives!

Step 5: Be Still
Memory verse: Psalms 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
To keep the peace, these are things Paul says we must think on:
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Philippians 4:8
Jesus says, “If you want peace, be still!”
The disciples were on a boat and Jesus was asleep, so they started yelling at Jesus, but Jesus showed them something. He rebuked the winds and the waves, He said “Quiet, Be Still!” and there was peace.
Does your family know who Jesus is to them?
God is in complete control of your lives; He truly loves your family!
Remember that God is in control, no matter what you go through alone, or as a family. We serve a God that will never leave us nor forsake us. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
“Be still, and know that I am God; (Psalms 46:10)

- How can your family be still before God today?
- What kind of things should you think on, to have the peace of God in your lives?
Ask your children, “Why do we need to be still before God?”
Listen to what they have to say, then add your corrections or input.
