Warning comes before destruction.
So the Lord told Abraham his plans to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, because their wickedness was great. (Gen 18:16-22)
Abraham began interceding (praying) on behalf of the city for any righteous people living there, that they would not be destroyed with the wicked. (Gen 18:23-33)
A closer look at the two wicked cities, illustrates how satan had taken captive the minds of the people there. Any and every wicked way, they were living.
In fact, when the two angels had entered the city, they were spotted right away. Yet, Lot, knowing the depravity of the city, deeply persuaded them to spend the night at his home. When nighttime had come upon them, all “the men of the city, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.” They yelled for Lot to bring out the men (angels) so that they could “have sex with them.” (Gen 19:1-5)
Even after the angels blinded them, they relentlessly pursued the angels with unimaginable desires. Gen 19:11
With wickedness so great, their fates were sealed: because Abraham had interceded on behalf of the righteous, Lot and his family were spared the hell fire.
However, Lot’s wife had become used to the behavior around her, as she looked back at what used to be and this costed her life! (Gen 19:12-25)
Are you getting used to the wickedness around you?
Have things become so bad, that you no-longer care; you stow away waiting to be rescued, waiting for the coming of the Lord?
Wake up or you’ll end up like Lot’s wife, who looked back on the life she once had, instead of running in obedience, she became a pillar of salt.
We have a job: to fight the good fight of faith.
Our intercessory prayer is what’s going to keep the nation from falling into pieces. When Christians take a stand, not conforming to the world’s evil desires; the will of God prevails.
Are you interceding for your nation today, have you stood up to fight?
If you are tired of being caught up in the madness of this world and have yet to accept Christ, now is the time.
“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts against Him…” Or you will never enter the rest of God, for sin can look glamorous, but leads to death. (Hebrews 3:7-11)
Jesus loves you and has waited for you, will you trust Him today? (John 3:16-17)
Salvation Plan
Today, if you have not received Salvation or you would like to rededicate your life back to Christ, say this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose to give me life. Right now, Lord, I turn from my sins opening my heart and life for You to come in. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
