Breakthrough Your Hazardous Thoughts, You Were Actually Chosen!

Given the current state of the world and the events unfolding globally, many individuals are feeling depressed and exhausted. People are sinking into depths of confusion, questioning their existence, the purpose of their lives, and whether their suffering will ever cease. Today’s devotion aims to assist you to breakthrough your hazardous thoughts, and recognize that you were, indeed, actually chosen!

Isaiah 43:1-2 NKJV

But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.
² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Falling Apart

Everywhere we look today, we can see so much distress. It seems as if the world is falling apart, and so are you. Maybe you have been abandoned by someone you love, maybe you lost your job, or someone and something near and dear to you. Just maybe, your relationship is falling apart and you feel alone. You are going to church, and checking that box each week, but something is still missing.

You are going down, your thoughts are killing you, they went from bad to hazardous at this point. At some point, you think you will need mental help intervention, because you can’t take the anguish anymore. Who are you, why are you here!?

Chosen!

Just as the scripture infers above, you are chosen! Guess what, before you were even born, God chose you to LIVE!

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.”

God has chosen you; He has redeemed you and He has called YOU by name. He says to you, “You are MINE!” Just think, God already knew you before you were ever in your mother’s womb, He knew your name before you ever received it from your parents. You were created for a purpose, but the world has a way of sidetracking us.

Breakthrough and Get back On Track

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, ² looking unto Jesus, the ^[a]author and ^[b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV

We were meant to run and win! Life has obstacles, but God calls us to overcome them because Christ has overcome the world. Everything that you are going through, God has given you the strength to get through it. Those thoughts in your head are nothing more than obstacles or booby-traps to keep you from finishing your race.

We wrestle NOT against flesh and blood, that includes our own, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).

Life and Death

Imagine you are running with weights on your back. These weights are heavy and they hang from your neck, arms, back, and legs. In order to stay on the track, you have to get rid of some of these weights, shake them off, so you can run faster, smarter, and stronger. This is exactly what God is telling us in this scripture:

“let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”

What can ensnare you, sin. There are many sins that can weigh you down. When your faith gets weak, it’s easy to fall into temptation. Soon you are no longer on track for your race. Because of this, satan comes in to throw in your face everything you have done. He is the accuser of the saints (Revelation 12:10), hunting you, filling your mind with lies, terrorizing you. This is a matter of life and death!

Fight back!

When you choose to fight back, to let go of your hazardous thoughts, and trust God, you are breathing new life into yourself. Having a solid foundation and a relationship in Jesus Christ, making time to devote ourselves to Him, as you are doing by reading this devotion, will grow your faith, your relationship with Christ, and help you to rid those demonic thoughts that tell you are not wanted, not good enough, and you don’t belong here. because God chose you!

As you fight back, those weights began to fall off. You become stronger and the peace of God comes upon you.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you ^[b]will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV

Chosen and Not Forgotten!

“Can a woman forget her nursing child,
^[a]And not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Surely they may forget,
Yet I will not forget you.
¹⁶ See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your walls are continually before Me. Isaiah 49:15-16 NKJV

Not only did Christ choose you, but He will never forget YOU. You were worth the cross and the curse. Jesus saw you and loved you, the you that wouldn’t come into existence thousands of years later!

So, fight the good fight of faith. Rebuke the enemy, persevere and endure until the end. There is a prize waiting if you don’t give up. You can do it and you will do it!
